I don’t really have a problem Wilder rejecting the deal so long as he makes the fight after Brezeale. He will dispose of Brezeale relatively easily so I don’t think he is taking a risk in not accepting the deal. However , when he goes on to say 50/50 that’s when I question whether he really wants to fight
Split the pie fair, and end all this "here's this fee I want to offer you" nonsense.

Whether it's 50% or 40%, or some other number, Wilder is laying his marker on getting a fair share of the whole event, and it's about time folks acknowledge that.

Funny how you ignored that bit.

Huh? FURY is the one who walked away from the purse bid for the Wilder fight. Then FURY'S promoter announced that he wouldn't make the Wilder fight until early 2020 at the earliest. How does any of that equate to Wilder being scared?

You anti-Wilder fans are really something.

Think about it the one offer Showtime sent (nearly a year ago) they didn't want to talk about it, literally.
Anthony Joshua had a verified offer in hand for $50m against 50% (with an alleged $30m against 40% if they both chose to do the rematch); what are you talking about?

Joshua said no, and Wilder's camp ended up moving on.

Both will fight their fights, and Wilder's camp will make the same 50/50 offer (since Joshua has publicly already argued that the money didn't actually matter, Wilder's camp likely drops the $50m guaranteed part).

SHOPPV, Sky Box Office, MGM Resorts.

What grounds would Joshua have to again walk away?

Wilder said 50-50 or no fight.

I doubt wilder is getting close to 20mil for this, and I’m genuinely interested in hearing the details if they claim he will.
"Making it up on the AJ fights" would mean they can afford to pay more for the AJ fights if they don't have to overpay for the Breazeale fight. So Wilder will surely be looking for more than 40 for AJ now.

As for what Wilder is getting for Breazeale, I agree it's unlikely to be 20, but not having to sign a four fight deal, and being able to get more for the AJ fights, it would stand to reason that he'd probably prefer a one fight deal for 15 than get 20 but be locked in for several more fights.

But another important factor is, DAZN is a flat fee for worldwide rights. Whereas Showtime is simply buying the US rights and Wilder can make additional funds selling foreign rights. So, for instance, Showtime could give him 12 million, he makes 3 million elsewhere, winds up with 15 total instead of 20, but maintains his freedom.

So in short they turned down 120 million and the 2 Joshua fights so they can have a look at trying to make the joshua fight. Great.
