  • Comments Thread For: Espinoza: Let's Get Back To Making Biggest Fights For Wilder

NEW YORK John Skipper has made DAZN's run at Deontay Wilder. Bob Arum also has tried to lure the WBC heavyweight champion to ESPN. Now that Wilder has turned down lucrative, multi-fight offers to perform on each of those platforms, Stephen Espinoza hopes Showtime and its competitors can get back to making the biggest fights for Wilder the way Wilder appears most comfortable attempting to do that. Showtime will televise Wilder's next fight, a mandatory title defense against Dominic Breazeale, on May 18 from Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

In other words, let's keep feeding wilder Haymons stable of fighters.

Wilder isn't getting nor deserves 50/50 vs AJ.
Fury deserves at least 50/50 vs Wilder.
Until the bumpkin realizes this, he can continue fighting whoever Haymon tells him to....cause he's loyal

All talk from greedy dudes just trying to serve their own interests. These dinosaurs days are numbered.

This was embarrassing enough at the Breazeale press conference. You don't need to do it again, Stephen.

Interesting how everybody else is talking about Deonkey's interests.
Why is this weasel mixing DAZN and ESPN offers? DAZN didn't want to tie him for the long term (4-5 fights). They offered what was supposed to happen anyway-mando Brazil and 2 Joshua fights, or 4 fights bcs of possible IBF mando between AJ fights (to make sure both AJ fights are for undisputed).
btw, Deonkey won't fight Joshua in foreseeable future. The Cancer just can't afford to lose the last HW belt to DAZN.

How close to the 20 million?..... 13 million apart?

I don’t really have a problem Wilder rejecting the deal so long as he makes the fight after Brezeale. He will dispose of Brezeale relatively easily so I don’t think he is taking a risk in not accepting the deal. However , when he goes on to say 50/50 that’s when I question whether he really wants to fight

All these platforms are trying to cut each others throats by banding figures and contracts about to each other by trying to control the money pie .. it's just laughable how it's playing out , someone will lose some serious dough if you believe some of the figures being paid out , arum is not ****** enough to guarantee fury $80 million dollars without him spiking in the figures to generate the dollars that's for sure..

Wilder, the "free agent" who never actually uses his freedom (because loyalty) and doesn't have the benefit of a huge financial multi-fight network deal, because he wants to be free, which he won't benefit from, (because again loyalty)... Sort of like circular reasoning, but even more ******.

His "owners" have him wrapped around their little fingers, at a discount price.

Fury had an offer for 50/50 and turned it down. As far as the AJ fight goes they feel they are leaving money on the table having the fight on DAZN. They want it on Showtime PPV. That’s the deal breaker right there. They can’t even have the talk about splits until they agree on the outlet first.
