I don't recall seeing any numbers I was all that surprising by. If Shields has 400k viewers on a regular basis I'd be surprised.

Her cards are usually ShoBox Friday night. I think this is her first Sat show.

Im sure network execs are being pressured into it, but if there ever was a legit women’s boxing event that could be showcased, its this one. Unification of all four belts is always a decent selling point. Let’s see how the numbers turn out.

I'm low key interested in this fight.

I've followed Shields for two Olympic games so it will be cool to see if she can unify all four belts to go along with her two gold medals.

She's come a long way from the fucked up childhood she had to endure. It's a nice success story.

I’ve watched women’s boxing since it became mainstream in the 90s with Martin as we saw her and Don King duck Rijker. I never liked Laila, was a fan of Holm, Tracy Byrd, sanders, rijker, Wolfe and others. Ali ducked Sanders and Wolfe so I never liked her. So u know I’m hyped for this. I been following Shields since her first olympics. How can u not be a fan of fighters like shields, braekus, or Katie Taylor? I personally feel Taylor is the best in the world.

Yea I wouldn't think so either & wasn't trying to suggest that.

I'm just trying to get my head around why everyone who's anyone in boxing has a girl fighter they are pushing onto the public fairly aggressively these days.

There has gotta be something these guys are all seeing or something thats paying off for them or is a thing that could pay off in the future thus its worth an attempt. But for the life of me I'm not seeing what all these guys are seeing & just trying to figure it all out.

I suppose it could just be a low risk high reward proposition like when Arum is signing these high level foreign guys to put on US shows. If you need 1 success story for every 5 girls you sign it probably is a profitable strategy to sign girls even if they are never going to get 1M+ viewers turning into watch them. But if you can get them getting 1M+ viewers its even a bigger W for them. Idk doe.

They saw the money Ronda Rousey brought in and are trying to create the environment for something similar to happen in boxing.
