DAZN thinks it can pay more than PPV (it's effectively just a different PPV model, ie app subscription you can turn off and on). So PPV is not the be all and end all. There are plenty of ways to get the money from the consumer.

Would the Miller fight pay Joshua as much on SHO PPV? It's nowhere near is it?

So there is a way to maximise revenue for the fighter beyond traditional PPV. It's being demonstrated right in front of you.

If we're talking about mega fights then that debate has still to be settled. What we do know is that a subscription service (DAZN) could offer $40M for Wilder. Were they offering $60M for Joshua then? Guesstimate numbers but $100M sounds pretty close to the mark to me. Especially given what SHO PPV generated for Wilder/Fury.

In terms of what's happened with Joshua to date, I'd also say he's earned pretty well on UK Sky and Sky PPV.

He could have spent that time "building profile" in the US by fighting on regular Showtime. But then he'd have earnings like Deontay wouldn't he?

There's a shift in the game here. In fact it's the same shift that every single industry around the world is experiencing. Whether DAZN succeeds or fails - it's Digital Disruption having a very real impact on the sport.

And if all else fails, Joshua can just go to PPV for his mega fights.

DAZN and PBC should unite and run Bob Arum out of business.

That's obviously what he is trying to do to them.

No, DAZN thinks it can over spend to kill PPV, then reduce spending once PPV is dead. The problem for DAZN is that PPV isn't going down without a fight. With UFC gone and wrestling gone, they're giving boxing promoters a bigger split than ever. So there is a lot of incentive now for boxing promoters to embrace PPV.

Spence's first PPV may end up tripling GGG's first PPV. Think about that for a second.

No need for Joshua to sign with Arum. Hearn is doing a better job of what Bob would do. Offer low purse then claim ducking/being difficult.

Thank you fam!!!!! I've been saying this forever.

DAZN is already raising their price from $9.99 to $19.99. The writing is on the wall.

Top Rank's deal with ESPN has a short shelf life, he does not have the fighters to sustain serious viewership, the talent just isn't there, it's on DAZN, and Showtime, and that's it.

DAZN might not have a ton of subscribers, but that will change when Canelo/Jacobs goes down, the uptick will continue with AJ/Miller, then you have GGG, there will be a lull this summer, but Canelo/GGG in the fall, and possibly AJ/Wilder at the end of the year?

ESPN can't compete with that, and PBC might not be able to either.

DAZN is not a sure bet, but it's a safer bet then Top Ranks deal with Disney, a company not crazy about losing money.
