I don't think Margarito could beat Floyd, but I see him as a more dangerous opponent than Cory Spinks. Spinks doesn't have much power and he was KO'd by Judah. Also his fight against Karmazin wasn't a stellar endorsement of him as a great fighter.

U say this about Spinks, but Margarito has nowhere near faced the same level of competition and had success. This margarito argument just amazes me. When i see margo fight and his record, I feel like people should be mad that Floyd is even considering him as an opponent.

Spinks' best win is against either Judah (and he lost the rematch) or Karmazin. Margarito's best win is against Cintron. While I definitely think Judah/Karamzin has the better pedigree, styles make fights. PBF's closest fights were against JLC, a pressure fighter. Margarito is nowhere near JLC's level but they are the same type of fighter and Margarito has better KO power at 147. Spinks couldn't hurt Floyd and he is considered a boxer. Floyd is simply the best boxer in the business so this fight is moot.

Dude u know damn well he bought out his contract to position himself to fight delahoya for the 20M payday. Don't try and flip facts like that. This is margarito we talking about, a paper champion who won an eliminator for his belt, and hasn't nor ever will be undisputed champion of any division.

He may have bought out for the DLH fight, but after he found out the fight wasn't happening this year he was offered the 8 mill again and turned it down. So Floyd should just sit around and wait for DLH for the next year, or if the rumors are true fight Cintron, because he is so much more worthy. If he doesn't fight Marg, I really don't see anyone else. If he doesn't fight Tony, than he is gonna sit and wait on Oscar(which is bull****) or he's gonna fight another tomatoe can.

he hasnt turned it down yet, he said he had a better offer, and it aint Cintron so quit trying to use boxrec to make Floyd the fraud. if floyd is going fight to margarito it will be in nov. promoted by Hbo the way it should be. Floyd da man, if u want a piece of the man, u got to accept his terms. So explain to me why Arum and margo is trying to get Floyd to chase them and subit to them and their terms. Yeah Cort, plus why would Floyd want to fight without his trainer and his advisor (Leonard Ellerbe) while risking his contract with HBO. And people who dismiss boxing as a team sport should look at Mike Tyson's career as an example of what can happen when a fighter is without his team

Totally agree with Cort... we are getting one side of the story from Arum and haven't heard the other side yet. Be patient, let's see what Floyd does, and quit mentioning Cintron as that was a completely unfounded rumor.
