    A pick 'em fight.

But I'm picking Peter to stop Toney in the later rounds.

His strategy is gotta be, to put all his weight on James, wrestle him around, and concentrate on punishing the body in the early rounds and tiring him out until he can unload on him in the later rounds.

If Peter starts headhunting then Toney will counter punch him all night long to a UD.

See this is exactly what Vassiliy Jirov tried to do, except Jirov was a much more skilled fighter than was Peter. He had the right strategy considering James' ring wear and age, but he still couldn't avoid the 350 plus punches he ate in return. He was bigger, probably physically stronger, but he was still dismantled and beaten.

Peter does nothing that resembles effective body work, and headhunting will NEVER work on James Toney. Especially when you throw very wide punches that James will see coming 10 minutes before they get to him. Peter will most likely allow himself to be lured against the ropes by Toney, and then we'll see the veteran matador slay the young strong bull.

the biggest thing after the klitschko fight for peter to do was to work on his game.

he needed to shorten up his hook a little bit, fix his conditioning problems, and throw some darn straight punches - just refine a few things in his game. i haven't seen much positive improvement in his game and the way he has been moved along has been god awful. the best thing for him was to get rounds under his belt where he could implement the stuff that he was supposedly learning.

toney has enough to easily figure him out provided he doesn't come into the fight as a blimp.

There's a limit where skill cannot overcome size and Rahman-Toney demonstrated that in spades.

Sam Peter is a very big, powerful heavyweight who wears his 260 pounds perfectly. James Toney should be fighting at 175. He has zero ability to keep Peter off him, and his counterpunches, no matter how clean they land, will be like trying to stop an elephant with a peashooter. It's a mismatch, and I don't see how Toney can win unless Peter somehow exhausts himself.

It'll be Foreman-Frazier or Foreman-Ali, and I'm betting on the former (and it won't be pretty).

Although I would like to see Sam Peter win via Ko and under the right circumstances I see that possible(see my earlier post). I, by no means think that this is a mismatch by Peter. Toney has proven he can stand in there and compete against the "heavies" and I suspect, but am uncertain, that Toney will take this fight very serious and as a result be in top fighting condition.

                I voted for Toney, but I think it's 50/50.

If Toney is the least bit conditioned, he should be able to pick off Peter's wide looping punches and keep away from danger inside the pocket. If he's not up to par on his gameplan, he could struggle and perhaps lose a decision to Peter.

My thoughts exactly. I'll know who I choose the day of the weigh-in after I see how both fighters come in. I lean slightly more towards Peter however.

Peter's chin is so good and he's so strong he might just be like a bull to Toney. If he knows Toney can't hurt him he'll just walk him down and throw bomb after bomb. Should be interesting to see if Toney can keep Peter off of him for the first 6 rounds in able to UD him by boxing him the remaining 6.

This is such a one-sided fight it's almost laughable the way they're promoting it like a big 50/50 fight. If Toney comes to fight in shape then he wins easily.
i'll also add that i would take the out-of-shape toney that fought against rahman, over peter as well. but toney being in shape makes for an even more onesided UD
