I would have picked Toney to win a fight like this a while back, but after Toney's performance against Rahman i'm not so sure. Peter can maybe break Toney down with an accumulation of punches to the arms and body, he needs to fight a good smart steady fight though. I'm still not a huge fan of Peter, but i feel it may be Toney's time to lose. Will be a much better fight if both of these guys come in good condition. I'm going with Peter.
Early Peter vs Toney predictions.

Quick question here; do you guys think that Toney's age vs Peter's youth factors into the equation here? In terms of stamina and conditioning, not necessarily experience.(we all know that Toney is light years ahead of Peter in ring experience)Comment

Seriously if Rahman couldn't get to an overweight Toney then theres no damn way that Peter will. Even an overweight toney will always get out of the way of Peter's power shots. And as for age, if you think age affects toney your an idiot... Age first affects your movement and Toney is great at fighting flatfooted. He will go toe to toe with Peter and unless peter develops an insane left hook then he's got absolutely no chance because a righthand is completely useless against toney. As for stamina they will both tire and Toney can fight well when hes tired.Last edited by Evil_Meat; 07-13-2006, 12:22 PM.Comment

I think size is actually a disadvantage for Peter, he's not that much taller (6'1 vs 5'10) but he's wide, and with the fight probably happening 80% of the time on the ropes, he's going to be one giant bullseye for toney, and we all know how accurate james is.
this is going to be nothing like the wlad fight, where he used that jab to keep peter at a distance. toney is going to the phonebooth with sam and as far as I know sam hasn't shown any skills at that close distance.Comment

Age effects everyone Meat, everyone. I don't care who you are, what your boxing style is, you do not benefit from getting older, especially when you don't take care of yourself as in Toney's case.Comment

I'm not sure about that, Evander Holyfield looked huge compared to Toney, and Holyfield is 6'2, so Peter will still be the bigger man by a decent margin.Comment
