toney by very clear UD. i see about 10-2 in rounds, maybe even toney could stop him late. peter wont do anything at all to hurt toney cause he has to hit him. peters style is exactly what toney loves to fight. come forward punching with no accuracy and wild punches, toney covers covers up, slips using his excellent defense, and then counters over and over with combos.

if sam peter cant knock out robert hawkins, how is he going to knock out james toney?

Because Robert Hawkins feared for his life , Toney will stand and fight unlike Hawkins !

Yes but Toney is no Robert Hawkins. He will stand and fight but it will be against the ropes on his terms. Also, while Toney never comes in "in shape" anymore, Peter has been out of shape as well. To beat Toney you have to pressure him CONSTANTLY. Toney is able to survive by being able to take breaks against the ropes and then counter punch accurately to keep his punch output low. Peter won't be able to pressure him enough. Also, Peter couldn't KO Klitschko and he has no jaw.

In theory then, he should have traded punches and since he is the more powerful man he would be winning the exchanges. What happened is that Peter can't beat a fighter he can't control. Although in a different way, Peter will not be able to control Toney. He won't be eating shots like against Wlad, but he won't land a punch as cleanly either. Plus Toney's chin is rock solid.
