Stiverne was still in better shape for Joyce then his 2 year absence with Wilder rematch though !

And IN shape Stiverne went 12 with Wilder.

Prepared Stiverne got demolished by Joyce no matter what he weighed.

I vividly remember Wilder's fanbase exploding in uncontrolled ******ic ecstasy when Deontay KO'd an overweight 40 year old Stiverne just over a year ago.

It was that KO which triggered the Wilder lunacy that fans like you are still gripped by till this day! Till this day! Till this day!!!

You know what I'm talking about!!

That KO was impressive. The reactions on this forum would have been the same whether Wilder had destroyed Stiverne or literally a random fat guy picked up at a bus stop.

TBH, Stiverne looked the same against Joyce as in the second Wilder fight - overweight and sluggish, like he hadn't bothered training properly and was just there to pick up a pay cheque.

But if we're talking about where Efe and Joyce are right now - I'm pretty sure Efe's team wouldn't have put him in with Stiverne and Joyce's team did.

That indicates to me that, at least in the eyes of their handlers, Joyce is closer to stepping up to challenge the best in the division than Efe is.

I don't see why Efe's handlers wouldn't throw Stiverne in there with him (well, not now obviously. He should never fight again) I thought he was retired. When I saw the first Joyce/Stiverne thread, i had still thought Joyce/Ortiz was going to happen, so i thought it was a joke thread.

And Stiverne WAS fat and out of shape for the rematch, nobody is saying otherwise. He was fatter and more out of shape in the most recent match, but it's not like it made a difference, he looked like **** both times.

Pretty sure the KO that brought Wilder all the hype was when he had Liakhovich doing his best Lou Gherig impression.

Stiverne was beat up by Joyce prior to Wilder .I recall also Joyce when there said how lazy he was. There's no doubt Joyce fought better Stiverne who looked more solid , people will argue but muscle weighs more then fat . There's no way that Stiverne would take six rounds of punishment if it was fat and he wasn't training. He looked more fat on his obliques .That's about it the weight on a short frame.

Edit : I think Joyce just overwhelmed him and people refuse to give him credit . Mostly Wilder fans the ones previously saying its a good test for Joyce which wasnt, it was a mismatch because as others said he's a AJ opponent not a prospect or low level fighter coming up or washed up like some guys like Stiverne who's best days were 4 years ago. If it were Wilder they would say Stivern e was more prepared .

It got 10x worse after the Stiverne KO, because it meant that Deontay had KO'd everybody who ever got in a ring with him. And that, in turn, meant he would KO anybody who ever got in a ring, period - including AJ, Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, The Klit bros, etc ..

It was also after the Stiverne rematch that Wilder and his fans rewrote history and started claiming that Deontay had been chasing Joshua ever since AJ won his first title, which is bullcrap.

Wilder attended AJ vs Wlad and was invited into the ring after the fight. Everybody expected a call out challenge, but it didn't happen. Wilder just shook hands with AJ, told him what a great fight it had been, then went away never to return.

I don't believe they met. Wilder from what I understand never met AJ face to face , hasn't happened yet . Wilder stayed away from the ring, went home and called AJ a ducking Coward praising him in the U.K. Ha

Joyce isn't explosive like Wilder. He's patient and methodical, coming foreward constantly, throwing tons of punches which may not be particularly hard individually, but are heavy enough to gradually break his opponents down.

Was Wilder not in the ring after AJ vs Wlad? I would have sworn he was, but I was very drunk when I watched that fight. I know he never called AJ out though.
