If Arum wanted to pay Wilder 8m for the same fight that Hearn has been quoted at 15m then I can’t see them paying Whyte more than what he currently earns.

I think signing with ESPN is great for him, like you said if they win the WBC purse bid for the Wilder fight then Wilder better knock Whyte out on ESPN.
I'm fully aware of him not having an official deal with Matchroom. Never said he did. However, just on Saturday they were talking about putting Whyte on a show in like June or July. Hearn was still under the impression that Whyte would be sticking with him when he made those comments. And then a few days later we are hearing that Whyte and TR are nearing a deal.

What does Hearn paying Wilder, a MUCH bigger star than Whyte stateside have to do with what ESPN was offering? Hearn wouldn't be offering Whyte close to that much even if he fought stateside. And the DAZN money is irrelevant if Whyte was just going to fight in the UK. Heck, DAZN passed up his fight against Chisora FFS. So no, I wouldn't be too sure that ESPN wouldn't match or come close to matching Whyte's UK purses.

Arum's US fights air on BT Sports and Warren's UK fights air on ESPN+. Those two basically have a deal together. This is why I don't think Whyte fights on Sky anymore, but will be fighting on BT Sports.

ESPN must be paying Whyte around 4M or so for his fights. Maybe a little less but in that range.
Well if any UK guy acts like being a PPV there means all that much my exhibit A is gonna be Whyte leaving behind Sky PPV for ESPN.

Obviously gotta play the mando situation with Whyte but wonder if there is any desire to matchup Fury vs Whyte during these deals? Interesting moves by Bob & Todd for sure.

He was on the Sky broadcast of last weeks card, didn't look happy at all throughout the whole show, could see something was up. I assume he wasn't on the DAZN production?

Hearn has said he's spoken to him about it, replied "No, not really" when asked if it was true.

Have to see what happens, he could just be angling for a better deal from Matchroom

Down the line that's definitely a fight they can make, but I wouldn't get my hopes up of that fight happening before the end of 2020. Expect those two to mix it up with the other HWs on the TR stable and wait for their mandatory shot. That goes for both Pulev and Whyte. Arum will play the long game here with Fury.

I didn't watch the show so I can't really comment on if he was on the broadcast or not.

But I did watch an interview of Hearn's or at least a clip of it saying they are trying to get Whyte out in June or July against a credible opponent.

Whyte could be just trying to get a better deal like GGG, but him going to ESPN/TR is totally believable.

For sure its believable. Once again its these "sources" though. Where were these guys with the Fury deal? Came from nowhere.

Well, they kept that under wraps. Props, truly came out of left field. But it is already known that Whyte has been fielding offers from US broadcasters/promoters for months. If he is getting offers for comparable money that he makes in the UK with the opportunity to get big fights against Wilder/Fury/etc stateside, then it makes sense to make the jump.

So why hasn't this been kept under wraps, if they've shown they can do it. Think the article said "itll be made official when hes officially signed". All that's done is opened the opportunity for Hearn to counter offer. Could even be Whyte's team that has let it out, in the hope that does happen. Makes no sense to reveal they may have Whyte, could cost them more money now.

He thought ESPN is the better choice? Isnt that obvious?

Because they see him as a money train when compared to Fury or Whyte.

Joshua was elevated to the "Super" champion with the WBO which means he gets 80% v 20% of his mandatory.
Whether Joshua would take the fight on ESPN or vacate, the point is that it's no guarantee DAZN would win the bid. Arum would essentially be playing a game of chicken with Hearn.

As for the super champion getting an 80/20 split, do you mind showing me where it says that in the WBO rules? You could be right, but I don't see any reference to that. Only that a WBO champion gets a 75/25 split if they fight at home and 80/20 if they fight away.
