'Conclusive' indicates the evidence overwhelmingly supports a single explanation of an event whereas evidence can be 'consistent with' multiple hypotheses.

VADA did not exonerate Canelo, the WBC loudly proclaimed his innocence in the absence of conclusive evidence (and indeed before there was any evidence at all beyond his failed tests results) and NSAC did not rule on intent, merely on the fact of his having failed a test.

Nope. VADA are the OVERSEERS of Doping Violations and report the investigation to the promoters and to the commissions. They work with WADA labs, in this case SMRTL, Dr. Eichner, who has the laboratories and spectrometry machines for any all molecular testing. USADA has used the same lab for their Clen cases which they exonerated fighters having had cases of Clen contamination. Dr. Eichner reported consistent with meat contamination.

There are far too many rural parts of Mexico that aren’t obviously Urban cities, many of those towns and places outsource to local meat houses. There was a world investigation of Mexico’s government raided more than 80% of its suppliers using hormones in cattle.

This is Mexico we are talking about. The government is as corrupt like Venezuela or any other third world South American country. You think these farmers are going to suddenly stop traditional practices? That’s like telling a cartel to “stop.” Lol

And I agree with you on the bold u highlighted. That’s called strict liability. This isn’t about Canelo being suspended. This about inconsistency with cases and fans not knowing how to contextualize contamination and during competition cases like Contador, the days of his event, not 80 days away for the same picorgram levels as Contador. Any reasonable person understands decay.

I like how Jacobs continually says he beat golovkin but golovkin beat canelo, ggg/canelo2 was a lot closer than the Jacobs fight

Surely Canelo and his team are smart enough to know that this was to be expected from Jacobs? I know Canelo has some irish monkey genes in him but I don't think he's as dumb as one.

Yes I know who Dr Eichner* is... I looked over his research at the time of this incident - indeed all the available research I could find on Clenbuterol testing. And once again there was no exoneration. You appear to be misunderstanding the term 'consistent with' despite my explanation in the previous post.

The current state of the research is such that it's impossible to give a conclusive answer to the question of intent though it's hoping further studies could make it possible in future.

This is what WADA had to say in Early 2018 (based, presumably, on Krumbholz' research, since outside of a couple of Chinese studies other academic literature is pretty thin on the ground)..

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) concede that they currently have no scientific means to distinguish whether failed drug tests for clenbuterol have resulted from contaminated meat or genuine doping.
"We are running some studies to try to distinguish but we don't have a magic solution today," Rabin told insidethegames here at the WADA Symposium.
            https://www.insidethegames.biz/artic...taminated-meat

We can get into this as much as you like, man... I ain't gonna pretend I'm any kind of expert but I have some relevant experience and certainly know my way around the relevant academic and scientific terminology.

EDIT: MY bad - I was getting my Drs mixed up (gonna blame me only being half awake)... Dr Krumbholtz is the researcher in question, not Dr Eichner. Dr Eichner, frankly is not a researcher into Clenbuterol, but the head of a testing lab. How would he be able to give a definitive answer when the research is at an incomplete stage as attested by WADA own labs.

What Eichner said was simply that 'no Clenbuterol was detected' after having given the caveat that it was difficult to detect Clenbuterol in light coloured hair... what we don't have is anything other than speculation on the significance of this result. Quite simply the research is not yet developed enough to tell us whether Clenbuterol was to have been expected after the time elapsed and if so, how much. There's been no research done to compare the result to, so how can in be interpreted to mean anything at all?

The latest work I've been able to find is this presentation by Detlef Thieme here - https://www.wada-ama.org/sites/defau...um_oct2017.pdf, a leading proponent of hair testing for WADA, and even this contains almost no work on lighter coloured hair, though Thiem remains optimistic that further research will develop a discriminatory test.

-Achh.. gotta do the school run now. We can continue later if you'd like.

This ^. I very much doubt that Canelo really gives two fucks about Jacobs' opinion. I suspect Danny's just trying to create some beef here, maybe to generate interest, when honestly there's no real antagonism between the two of 'em.

Sad thing is this should really be a fight that sells itself, but I'm honestly not sensing massive interest. Maybe it'll pick up closer to the date.
