If Ortiz has struggled to nail down the likes of Hammer and Scott, what gives you such confidence that he’d be able to catch up with a fitter, bigger, much better boxer in Fury?
It's because Ortiz is a southpaw, knows how to box and cut off the ring on Tyson Fury. He knows how to control spacing, distance and range by walking him down.

Fury can run but he can't hide. At some point, Ortiz accurate punches are going to find Fury's jaw and then what?

In addition, he punches much harder and have the better chin of the two. If he nails Fury with the type of punches he hit Hammer with he drops him at least six times in the fight.

In addition, Tyson doesn't punch hard either. All Tyson Fury has is defense which he will use to try play keep away and run out the clock.

However, Ortiz is no Deontay Wilder. He knows how to pick his shots very carefully and accurately and also, unlike Deontay Wilder, Ortiz knows how to locate a moving target very well because he is the more fundamentally sound and skilled of the two fighters.

This fight will be an obvious duck by Tyson Fury. However, if they do decide to fight. I pick Ortiz by unanimous decision.

Fury doesn't have the balls to stand in the same ring as Luis Ortiz. King Kong will systematically break him down both physically and mentally.

Ortiz is not just a huge puncher but he is also a scientific, technical and fundamentally sound boxer too. Fury does one thing well and that's move but Ortiz will find him.

Moreover, Tyson can't punch or take a punch for shit. If an in shape, well conditioned Luis Ortiz were to drop those hammers on Fury like he did Christian, he would drop him to the canvas for a total of six times.

It's a shame that only Ortiz is challenging the boxers listed in the top 10 and he only managed to fight Wilder, that too on the 2nd occasion (1st one was cancelled).

Is it true that others are really scared to fight him as he has a lot of potential.

          • I'm sad to say that Ortiz's window has closed.

I stand by my statement that he was the best HW in the world in 2015/2016, but he's too old now.

Even still, they don't want to fight him because it won't be easy. A Cuban southpaw with skills and power is not a walk in the park.

I'd pick Wilder/Fury/AJ over him , but at his absolute best he could'e beaten any of them.

Fury would stop 2015 Ortiz early.

Not sure what agenda you think I have - I just want to see the top 10 fight each other and Ortiz Fury would be better than average H/W fight particularly with Fury Wilder II on ice.

Top 10 don't fight each other often enough for me, they protect their '0's and '1's too much. An NFL team with 13-3 has had a good season, even 10-6 is not bad, but the top boxers are 22-0 or 18-1 because they don't fight competitively. So far in 2019 we have only one top 10 H/W fight scheduled - I'm dissapointed I thought 2018 was a step forward, but now it's all going backwards.

Ortiz last three - Cojanu, Kaufman, Hammer
                Breazeale: Izu, Molina, Negron
                Miller: Duphaus, Adamek, Dinu

Why didn't they fight each other??
You are right though. Most of them are just fighting soft to project the pay day just as miller did and it worked for him. Now he will earn money higher than every money he had earned in his last 10 fights combined.

Strategy that worked with the help of hearn as a co promoter.

I have a personal problem with Ortiz and his team, they feel too entitled like someone owe them something. They are very comfortable as undercards, no ambition and
No attempt to try attract other top 15 fighters in a way of sending contracts and other related stuffs.

Calling out a fighter is seen as a regular thing now, it doesn't have much impact as expected especially like Ortiz, calling out virtually everybody. The only interpretation is he needs a pay day.

He need to repackage himself to attract other top guys.

With all this attributes, he still got KTFO when his conditioning /cardio failed him.
I wouldn't be surprised if Fury KO in the championship rounds.

Wilder's boys plan to disgrace Ortiz out of boxing when he gets flattened again.
He will not add any value to whyte financially or ranking wise as whyte is higher than him on rankings.
I would have suggested whyte give him like 300k to send him out of the ring for good to be heard no more.
These wilder boys are absolute lunatics and they are going to be disgraced out of this forum.

                    • I like Ortiz but he couldn't cut the ring off well vs Malik Scott and that was about 3 yrs back.

Good fight i want to see it but only see one winner here.
