He potentially left 3-5 million on the table. If he had lost to Ortiz the Parker fight would have still been on the table because it was a pointless fight.

This makes no sense, there is and has never been a mandatory slot for fighting Ortiz. The WBC said if he fought Ortiz he could have a fight in 6 years time, being a mandatory to a mandatory.

Wilder fights his mandatorys at a rate of 1 every three years and the WBC would get him a chance that he might get to be manadatory after Brezeale finally got a fight with Wilder.

Fighting Ortiz is worthless other than ranking points on boxrec :-(

Unlikely the WBC would simply name Whyte the next mandatory. He'd have to fight a final eliminator. If he was serious about becoming WBC champion, he should have fought Ortiz last Summer like the WBC wanted. Wilder is likely fighting Breazeale in May and then Whyte would be owed a shot by May 2020. Which seems far away, but beating Parker accomplished absolutely nothing and now he'll still have to fight a final eliminator anyway.

They're gonna wait a year or two before they step to Ortiz, by then the coast should be clear. By then Ortiz will have slowed down to the point where they believe they can "get him!" But right about now?? The old man is waaaay too RISKY. When an opponent comes to "fight" and not survive, "risk" in losing by KO or TKO is involved. When you "plan" to survive - you lose in BUM like fashion, preferably on points. So Whyte will play the 3rd option call out, while Joyce wisely reneged on his call out.

Breazeale most likely at Barclays with Joe Joyce on the undercard. I will be there as usual. Great place for Boxing. I have been to 6 of their last 7 shows.

Wilder was offered as at then a career high paydays of 7mil to fight whyte in the UK but he declined.
