If that happens, fine. I'd like to see Whyte vs Wilder. It would probably push the Fury rematch to 2020 though. They would have to pay step aside $ to Whyte if its ordered since it wouldn't be a unification fight to trump it.

Who knows, maybe we would get to see Fury vs AJ in the fall?

They could easily have Breazeale as mando in May, then Wilder isn't obligated to fulfill another mandatory defense until May 2020. Allowing for the rematch to happen late winter early spring if not late this year. I'm thinking TR/ESPN won't push for the rematch until they are certain Fury is entrenched into the US fanbase. That may be 2-3 fights into the deal. Although if ratings tank for the interim fight, they may be eager to jump into the rematch this fall.

        Even Tyson Fury did that
Didn't Hammer fail to come out for like the 8th or 9th round. He didn't knock him out, he did knock him down though.

Whyte was the WBO #2 all of 2018. All he had to do was not lose and he would have become WBO #1 after Joshua fought Povetkin who was the WBO #1 and the WBA mando. As such, the Parker fight was meaningless from a rankings position perspective. It was a money fight.

The only real guy I can think of who is willing and available is Ortiz. But idk if whyte would risk his status. He’s been carefully managed. But yea I agree. Martin is not good. But he’s going to most likely fight someone who is not good

What makes it better? That it ensures Whyte gets step aside money if Fury and Wilder works out the rematch? That it ensures that Wilder goes two years without fighting a mando? If the WBC sticks to their rules Wilder has to fight a mando next since Breazeale took step aside to allow the Fury voluntary in Dec.

To me, if they name Whyte mando now they appear corrupt. If they keep the eliminator they appear to be bending rules to keep Wilder from fighting mando. If they call Breazeale a voluntary (which reduces the likelihood Wilder fights him), then what timeline do they put on Whyte as a mando because it also makes them seem like they are kicking the mando can for Wilder.

To me, best case is Breazeale as mando, Whyte inherits the mando position next barring a loss, Pulev takes the Fury fight and loses, opening the door for either the Joshua/Fury vs Wilder fight late this year or Joshua Wilder next April in Wembley.

Because it gets Breazeale out of the way, and they get Whyte out of the way. Breazeale gets his fight and Whyte gets his. The whole mess created by them is solved.

It does clear their hands of the confusion they caused in the eyes of Whyte fans. I'm not sure it makes things better for fans that are eager for the Wilder Fury rematch or Joshua Wilder.

Doesn't matter to me, unless there is some sort of protecting Wilder campaign going on here. I don't see how Wilder/Breazeale fighting as Voluntary and Whyte getting his mandatory shot affects anyone or anything.

We know Wilder/Fury/Joshua isn't happening, people can discuss who ducked who until the kingdom comes but its not happening. We need to move on from those fights and get the others their chances.

Well said.... Those fight ain't happening soon. The fans need to learn to see the hand writing on the wall and move on.
There are many good fights out there.
