See Mayweather vs Pacquiao the BIGGEST GROSSING fight of all time and fights that proceeded it like Leonard-Hearns, Ali-Frazier. Beating the lesser fighters made people want to see them fight another fighter fighter who is doing the same thing.

For example at the moment casuals don't know who Spence, Danny and Mikey Garcia, Porter, Thurman and Santa Cruz. They need to be built up as people haven't been watching them fight so have no interest in seeing them fight each other. Of course we know who all of these fighters and we want Thurman to fight Spence. For example but the average person you see at Walmart wouldn't know who the phuck they are.
People know pacquiao and mayweather, and it became the biggest grossing fight ever because their resumes are littered with names. Cotto, hoya, hatton, barrera, mosley, marauez, these guys have their own fanbase. Names you ignoranamus. No thurman and spence etc dont need any more bum fights to build up their names, they need to start fighting eachother. We are just forgiving(some of us) thurman because he's coming off inactivity.

It's the strategy he uses on the boxing public. Maybe it's time we start using it on him?

No other sport needs to "marinate" things before the best face the best.

You don't see the NFL delaying the Super Bowl until the average person at Walmart knows who the Rams are.

It's only in boxing where this sickness thrives. And it's because the fans don't get up in arms about it more often.

A large, noisy, public boycott of Arum would send a message.

The Rams (best team in the NFC) didn't play the Patriots (best team in the AFC) every week. They both beat other teams then they matched up against each other. That's why the Superbowl is so watched; it's the best vs the best after they beat all of the B/C/D level teams in the pre and post season.

In the NFL you get the best against the best every year. In boxing it takes 5+ years or just never happens.

Also the NFL has a tournament format to crown it's champion. The closest thing boxing has to that is the WBSS. And of course the cancer Bob Arum always keeps his fighters out of that!

Yet another justification for a boycott.

You realize that there are going to be people that don't know guys like Spence and Thurman watching for the first time right because they are fighting on Fox instead of Showtime. This is why they need to be built up so casuals and new fans want to see them fight.

Feel free to boycott then. Nobody is forcing you to watch.

I will but it would be good if more of us joined in. I'm just one man, a large grass roots movement from boxing fans would send more of a message.

I don't pay to see a fighter just fight anyone. It has to be a meaningful event for me to pay extra.

I think all you can do is make an honest assessment of what is going on and hold those responsible for not giving us the fights we want accountable.

If Fury fights on regular espn then I will watch as I watch every fight they put on when I can. However I haven’t purchased the app yet nor have I purchased dazn because the quality of fights has not been worth it imo (although I did regret missing the last kov and Lopez card).

I was hoping espn would bridge the gap but they seem to be operating same as hbo.
