He's talking about the fights between the top guys/fights we actually want to see. There really isn't. And please lets not make the same mistake as pbc by having all these killers under this one branch but not fight eachother. You want these guys to get exposure? Put them in fights people want to see. Enough with the gayweather formula already.

Those fights are always much more entertaining and it makes boxing look good when you see to highly skilled operators competing. New fans would definitely be made.

otherwise the only dude who can be said to take on all comers and really earns big bucks is canelo. jacobs is a good fight, fielding was a gimme after fighting a monster puncher.

these fights at HW do not need to marinate! they are being marinated so guys can keep their records and not take Ls against each other or get knocked out. in the meantime they fight lesser fighters for bigger purses. everybody wins but the fans. networks, promoters, sanctioning bodies, fighters purses we need to see these guys fighting in their primes. one fight each after a hard fight for wilder - fury, but then that is it! if fury thought he had an easy time of it he can prove it by taking a rematch. and if wilder thought he won the fight he should have no problem knocking fury out this time, hmm?

fury will toy with wilder in the next fight btw.
Could not agree more(except Fury v Wilder prediction)Let the promoters spout that marinate ****e anybody else is a fanboy who does not want his fighter to lose.REAL FANS although they have their favs too but MOST IMPORTENT is the heath of sport and the best thing for the sport is for the best to fight the best period!!Unless like you said they are prospects its time to put the big boy pants on.Cant stand mini promoting fanboys who are worse for the sport then the alpha bit boys and the real promoters because they help them get away with it.Fury is almost impossible to get ready for due to his skills and size but even more so his unorthodox style.Alot of times those fighters don't do as well in rematches(same with really athletic guys)Wilder has now seen him for 12rds(which he dropped him in 2 of last 4 rounds)and I think(and it seems Fury might think)that Wilder will be the one that improves on his performance. And even if he don't Fury still could end up staring at lights.People forget that Fury really was the more active fighter in 1st fight. He had 3 fights in a 3-4 month span and more important NONE were FAT CAMPS.He was about 10pds off in 1st fight back vs the cruiser and got to work on skills the whole time.Wilder was off for 9 months(about the longest of career)and also when Fury "retired"he was in his prime people forget SSL was off even LONGER and came right back in 1st fight to fight Hagler(and he was doing coke too). Also Foreman retired in his prime and also got VERY fat now he took about 23-4 fights before Holyfield but he was off TEN years and was 37-8 when he came back.

People are doing this already. Thats why there are less & less people watching boxing from back in the day to the 80's & 90's til today. People turn up when something they wanna see happens, but only us hardcore boxing dorks are watching the 9th billed fight on DAZN & sh^t like that.

I did cancel the ESPN+ app doe, but that had more to do with how they only show the undercard fights for so many shows & the main event you gotta switch over to ESPN. I'm anti-cable so I've chosen to just use a stream for the whole show vs using the app & then flipping to a stream when its main event time. If that sh^t makes sense at some point & the fights are all on ESPN+ I'll re-subscribe in a second doe.

So nobody going to address the Elephant In The Room?

Arum is 87 years old, at this stage of his life I don't think he should be trying to "Marinate" anything because who knows if he will be around when the Marinating Process is over and the fight is ready to be made? Just Saying! Not that I'm hoping for Arum to die or any Ridiculous BS like that! Boxing is just not that serious to ever wish that. At 87 Arum still looks very Sharp and is still getting around very well for his age which I think is AWESOME!

That being said, things can change real quickly regardless if it is Tyson Fury have a complete SH#T Showing on ESPN vs an opponent he is suppose to walk through which with Fury is very possible. Or Wilder or even AJ getting Clipped like Lennox Lewis did vs Rahman. It is Heavyweight Boxing, all it takes is 1 Punch and everything can change in this Division!

Yes, I find him more interesting than Lomachenko. He's young and dumb. Incredibly talented, but you never know what his level of dedication is going to be. Lomachenko is like a robot. I don't find him interesting. Very talented. Nothing against those that support him. Maybe if he's ever in with a top guy, I'll be interested.

I remember your rules about ranking fighters pound for pound and it's based on how many belts they have. Is your p4p ranking currently

                1. Usyk DAZN
                2. Joshua DAZN
                3. (tie) Lomachenko (soon to be #2 once Commey is healthy) ESPN
                3. (tie) Hurd (
                3. (tie) Canelo DAZN

Crawford (ESPN) was your number 1 but is now out of the rankings for moving up.
My current top 5 pound for pound:

                #1 - Oleksandr Usyk
                #2 - Anthony Joshua
                #3 - Canelo Alvarez
                #4 - Vasiliy Lomachenko
                #5 - Jarrett Hurd

Casuals don't know who these guys are. Which is why certain fights are going to be marinated so casuals can get interested in them.

When you put it like that, why bother having good matchups at all? There's always going to be new fans/casuals who don't know the fighters even after it's been marinated. Should they cancel the fight and marinate it some more? And what happens when new fans go to watch the re-marinated-marinade...they won't know who they are.

I don't follow football/basketball/baseball etc...should they postpone the Superbowl so I can learn about the teams? They should marinate it right, let the Patriots play the worst team before the big game so the new fans can get more interested?

They would never do that in other sports. So why do you think this is good for boxing?

It's just frustrating that the Furey-Wilder rematch was all but agreed to. One of the few compelling fights that we fans had to look forward to...and then in comes Arum to ruin it all.

This marinating bullshit is starting to turn me off the sport. And I never thought I would say that.

We spend all this time talking about, and waiting for, big fights that never seem to happen.
