Stiverne had power and I imagine he still does. He landed what appeared to be very clean counters against Joyce in the first round. I thought he might drop Joyce with one of them but Joe didn't look phased.

Joe is big and appears to have a good chin, he also throws alot of punches. However he is slow, stiff and leaves himself wide open for counters. I'd like to see him fight Charles Martin and/or Adam Kownacki.
I would like to see Kownacki vs Joyce. I think Joe would overwhelm Martin even though he did show some heart that was missing in the A.J. fight, in his last fight.

Oh yeah, even neglecting "boxer is as good as in his last fight" rule you say 5 fights with 3 rd KO each (15 rd total) means worse result than one full 12-rounder, right? I was correct, you can't cure ******ness.

How old are you? And do you know the physical decline a man's body goes through from 36 to 40? Especially if they don't train properly. An unbiased person COULD just research the prior weigh-in's and the weights and the actual prior fights to make a sound decision.

          I think Martin beats Joyce.
Joyce's team picked Stiverne for a reason: we all saw why during the weigh-in.

Former champ, albeit faded, but a huge step up for Joyce as this was the best opponent of his young career. I still think a heavy hitter who moves will beat this slow as molasses young gun. But hes entertaining and throws caution to the wind.
That young gun turns 34 in September... That is why they are trying to fast track him. I just don't think he has what it takes unfortunately. He admits he is not where Wilder is in ability yet, but when does he plan on this happening? Wilder is no spring chicken btw. He turns 34 in October.

I respect that opinion, and you may be 100% correct. Stiverne is definitely a shell of his former self. I hope for his healths sake he hangs'em up. As far as Martin is concerned, I wouldn't mind seeing that fight.

Wilder's hardest punches in that fight happened in the round 5 and 7, 8 and 9...
So, how do you explain the total destruction that Wilder provided with a healthy right in the second fight?

You are right, of course, but revisionist history 101 always shows up when someone wants to discredit someone or a something. That 12 round domination of Stiverne was the first time I had ever seen Wilder live, and Stiverne was game. He has never been anything but a really good "B" level HW, but he was respectable then. He was blown out, but he was active and looking for the win. There is nothing of that fighter left. He is not even a gate keeper. He is strictly "C" level, and probably that is rating him too high.

Joyce may have gotten the win over a name, but I have zero idea if he actually got any growth out this fight.

Not to mention how he put Stiverne in the Unconscious Limbo Championship with a healthy right in the second fight lol

People say anything to discredit the ONLY man in Professional fighting that routinely fights men 40-60 pounds heavier than he is. Some respect is due for that fact alone.

I actually think Joyce stock took a hit in this fight, just like Munguia's did to me his last fight. Both guys were getting countered over and over with the exact same shot, and were clueless on how to prevent it.

I hate using the term "exposed" but today, Joyce's awful defense and his "speed" got exposed by a 273lb 40 year old man who hadn't fought in years.
