Maybe Ortiz would have done, but who has Ortiz beaten? No one in loads of fights. This is the same issue with Wilder. Who has Wilder beaten? No-one in loads of fights.

At least Joyce is actually fighting someone decent early on in his career....

Ortiz has fought similar competition to his peers and outperformed them.

-Knocked out Jennings with ease who not only went the distance with Wlad but was ranked higher than anybody that Pedvetkin beat in over a decade for example or Parker/Whyte have beaten.

-Stopped David Allen whom went the distance with Whyte.

-Stopped Cojanu in 2, whereas he went the distance with JP.

-Didn't lose a single round to Scott whereas Scott won multiple rounds against Chisora.

-Gave Wilder the fight of his life.

Stiverne is like journeyman level at this point, he got dropped by Rossy after losing to Wilder, that 1st Wilder fight wrecked his career.

You can’t cure man’s man love blindness more like. Anything that remotely challenges Wilders paper thin credentials with facts just doesn’t compute.

Here’s the facts, Stiverne was Wilders second best opponent (after Fury who had spent a year on the sofa until 6months before and came in after a crash diet looking a shadow of his former self).

Stiverne took him 12 rounds just four years ago, this was the ‘hay day’ of Stiverne in his mid 30s coming off wins against the great (not) Arreola. Basically we’re talking about perhaps the most average world champion of a generation. This guy, was the best person on Wilders resume until very recently.

He had another go with Wilder two years later and turned up for a pay day and got KO’d in one. Wilder fans whooped and hola’d like he had just conquered a dragon and built up Stiverne like he was some kind of credible opponent.

Joyce who is utterly limited and slow and has almost a quarter of fights as Wilder also managed a KO, proving that Stiverne is absolutely shot to pieces and considering he was pretty darn crudy in the first place, says a lot.

Therefore, Wilders one round blow out was hardly impressive in retrospect and you start to wonder, was he all that good against old fatty coke face after all? Actually no he wasn’t, and needed local scoring to keep a belt around his waist.

All in all what’s this about...Wilders a hyped up one trick pony and as records start to stack up against his own, it’s becoming clear his days are numbered. Fury is gonna box his head off and AJ is gonna take his head off.

In the end Joyce stopped a prepared Stiverne with less time out of the ring. People are also not bringing up Wilders back of head shot which does up his K.O . They're also making weight the issue, but Stiverne was leaner for this fight them his last one with 6% less body fat index, clearly he didn't put on 20 pounds more of fat it had to be muscle at 6'2 he wouldn't have the conditioning to take all them shots.

Joyce is slow and gets hit a lot. He is not ready for Wilder or even guys like Ortiz or Whyte imo.

I didn't see nothing spectacular about Joy Joyce.... He has good conditioning and a good chin but that's about it. His power is overrated and he lacks defense...
Any of the top 6 heavyweights will destroy Joy Joyce... He has a long way to go before he even considers stepping up to any of the top 6 heavyweights...

There will never be anything spectacular about Joyce. He is a not so skilled come forward guy with great stamina and great workrate. He fights like a KO waiting to happen but he's fun to watch. His size, style, stamina and workrate can still make him dangerous no matter who he fights. I like Joyce and he will be in several entertaining fights. He turns 34 tlater this year, he can't take it slow. Keep on pushing for big fights.
