They will say the EXACT same thing once a brit DESTROYS the myth that is Luis Ortiz

Joyce's team picked Stiverne for a reason: we all saw why during the weigh-in.

Former champ, albeit faded, but a huge step up for Joyce as this was the best opponent of his young career. I still think a heavy hitter who moves will beat this slow as molasses young gun. But hes entertaining and throws caution to the wind.

Joyce may have gotten the win over a name, but I have zero idea if he actually got any growth out this fight.

People say anything to discredit the ONLY man in Professional fighting that routinely fights men 40-60 pounds heavier than he is. Some respect is due for that fact alone.

Originally posted by landotter View PostYou are right, of course, but revisionist history 101 always shows up when someone wants to discredit someone or a something. That 12 round domination of Stiverne was the first time I had ever seen Wilder live, and Stiverne was game. He has never been anything but a really good "B" level HW, but he was respectable then. He was blown out, but he was active and looking for the win. There is nothing of that fighter left. He is not even a gate keeper. He is strictly "C" level, and probably that is rating him too high.

I hate using the term "exposed" but today, Joyce's awful defense and his "speed" got exposed by a 273lb 40 year old man who hadn't fought in years.
