This seems like the path of MOST resistence for a HW debut. Interesting choice.

If Usyk gets the W here I think you gotta have him in the top 5 & he's instantly a challenger for any belt situation he could be offered.

Povetkin, despite the disrespect he gets on NSB, is a quality opponent, and arguably better than Usyk right now, we will see.

If Usyk is the fighter his biggest fans say he is, then he wins this fight, probably by decision, Povetkin is a fundamentally sound and seasoned fighter, and has been in with elite opposition.

I am hoping Usyk can make some noise, either eventually or immediately, so that Fury can add another name to the resume. Feed the beast.

Dnt gimme that Eddie excuse, it's not gonna fly. The question is has he sent any which was rejected? Besides, not all the top 10/15 are on Eddie's staple. You even make more excuses than wilder did when he lost to Fury.
It's hi time Ortiz management start sending contracts and stop feeling entitled. Nobody owes them anything, this is business, you have to invest money to make money.
Until Ortiz start sending contracts, he is only crying like little girl and no one gives a fvvk.

Ok, very well said! However, just Like Bernard Hopkins, Ortiz will only get better with age because the man knows how to fight. Now tell me the truth mate. If Ortiz and Povetkin were to rumble now who would win?

If Ortiz get better with age, the better for the division.
My opinion about Ortiz /podvetkin will be neutral, let the best man win.
I like both guys but I believe Podvetkin has fought more seasoned, experienced and elite guys more than Ortiz. Never the less it's a good match up.

I personally agree that Povetkin has fought the much stiffer competition of the two in their professional careers. One cannot dispute that fact because it's not even debatable.

However, when I look at Povetkin today; I see a lot of signs of slippage and decline in his skills. For example, he is not the same fighter he was 6 or 7 years ago. He has aged and so has Ortiz but Ortiz has not aged as badly as Povetkin. Perhaps it's due to all the ring wars Sasha has been in.

I am certainly not here to bash Povetkin or put him down either because the man is a future Hall of Famer and one of the best heavyweight boxers of his era. I might be wrong but I am just being sincere in my convictions that at this current stage of their careers, Ortiz has a lot more left in the tank than Alexander Povetkin does.

You might be right but we can't be too sure until both are in the centre of the ring.
I don't know if that fight will ever be made, I hope it does.

You are absolutely correct. We will never know until they fight. In any case, here's hoping that the fight gets made someday too.
