True, but Ortiz hides it a lot better than Povetkin does because he is the more fundamentally sound of the two. He is a better counter puncher, has a better chin, never wastes any punches and knows how to conserve energy.

This is what makes him so dangerous because physically he may be past it and on the decline but he more than compensates it with his fundamental scientific boxing skills. Which makes him appear less vulnerable than he actually is.

Beyond that... let's be real here; Ortiz faded horrendously against Wilder so he really doesn't 'know how to conserve energy' any more so than Povetkin who also faded against Joshua.

That was then and this is now. Alexander Povetkin was the better fighter as an amateur but Luis Ortiz is the better fighter currently. Now tell me home if the two were to rumble today who would win?

How do you rate an older Ortiz who never fought anyone that good got dropped more times against Wilder than Povetkin did against AJ and not rate Povetkin at all who's faster on his feet than Ortiz and better getting in and out?

For a debut fight at HW this is as good as it gets without fighting AJ,Wilder or Fury.

He always want to talk up Ortiz and talk down on Podvetkin. That's his usual routine but from all indications and indices Podvetkin is far much greater than Ortiz.

No, I am not saying that at all. Of course, he would have taken on a prime Povetkin; Especially if they were fighting in the same era and division.

Every fighter aspires to be great and what better way to be great other than getting an opportunity to challenge among the elites of the division or for a world title? If Sasha was younger, it would be hotly contested and highly competitive match up where Sasha would be the easy favorite.

However, today he is not because to everything is a season and to everything is a time and father time catches up to us all. I still say if Sasha can't catch him early or isn't able to secretly take his PEDS then he doesn't stand a chance of winning at this latter stage of his career.

His body is not what it used to be. It's now shopworn with lots and wear and tear on it. Moreover, at this point, Usyk's body is the more younger and fresher of the two with the more polished skills.

Am sure your opinion would have been different if it was Ortiz in Podvetkin position.

That's why Eddie Hearn and myself see Alexander Povetkin as the more vulnerable of the two fighters because he appears as the more safe opponent. Hell that's why Eddie Hearn won't allow any of his Matchroom Sport fighters: Whyte, Joshua, Parker, Takam within a 100 yards of King Kong let alone challenging him because he is so dangerous.

Many of those same top 10/15 guys like: Usyk, Chisora, Whyte, Joshua, Parker, Takam are all in the Matchroom Sport's stable and none of them including: Eddie Hearn want absolutely nothing to do with King Kong. So why is it?
