I disagree with the comment that 'most fans aren't knowledgeable' (in regards to message boards). I think most are; the problem is many of them are overly biased and suffer from Schadenfreude that is expounded upon by the internet.

They would rather insult fighters they don't like with pejorative nicknames and intentionally degrade their accomplishments, and abilities then have an honest and fair discussion. This of course puts fans of said fighters on the defensive and soon spirals into childish behavior.

So these knowledgeable fans behave immaturely in an effort to make other grown men on the internet 'feel bad' about boxers they are a fan of-covering up their knowledge of the sport.

VADA welcomes Anthony Joshua back to our program as he prepares to face Francis Ngannou March 8, 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

      Miller doesn't do anything.
      Parker skips tests.
Fury signed up to VADA two weeks before the WIlder fight.
Whyte popped for an energy drink.
      Ortiz has popped twice now.

No he isn't in the WBC clean boxing program .. he doesn't box for them and yes you can ask for additional tests rather than just random pre fight as part of the contract as is common.
Joshua is not enrolled in VADA year round. VADA catches fighters who cheat, the other guys not so much.

Cool article. But comparing Spence to Margarito is just wrong. Margarito was during a time of no advanced drug testing. Then you’ve got his loaded wraps.. Spence and Margo are completely different styles.

The article also stated GGG did VADA testing “long before” the WBC belt. Where are the sources for this?

And it should’ve been addressed to the fans question about GGG acclimating to 168. First, GGG was always bigger than Canelo in the ring about 3lbs Minimum. Therefore whatever Canelo’s weight was in the ring, GGG fans should get a good idea what Golovkin’s weight was. Even Doug Fischer said their weight was the same during his commentary. So therefore, no other way to spin it, what was GGG’s weight?

If Pavlik could rehydrate to 178lbs in the Martinez fight, GGG fans need to wake up that when GGG late in his career, and as Paulie recently said in the Davis post commentary with the the Showtime gang, that the older you get its harder to drain, which again, explains why GGG looked gaunt and sweating profusely in his last outings. Even the article has a picture of GGG all with green skin colour as a cryptic and comedic message that it’s known for him to feel ill during the pressers trying to make weight.

So the answer is that GGG doesn’t have to acclimate to make 168, he’s easily a 168 fighter, and Froch himself said that if GGG wanted a payday with him, he’d have to make a 172lbs catch. Industry guys know GGG is not a 160 fighter.

The good news is that I’ve been saying, a 168 GGG is the real deal, suppressed power there. That a reason for his network signing hold up too, he’s trying to figure out his options at 168.

According to the fight night weights that we have for both of them (Canelo having less to go by because he chooses to not disclose his. Of course it's not necessary but it shouldn't be something to hide), that's not necessarily true. Based off G's average, he's between 170-172, with 173 being the highest against Rubio. Canelo, well we don't have as much to average out. He was 172 against Trout almost 6 years ago and there's reports of him being 174 against Angulo, which just so happened to be his first time at 155. We would have to assume he would stay around that weight being that he was still growing. He's looked bigger in his following fights after Angulo. Just because he chose to stay at 155 for multiple fights, doesn't mean G was naturally bigger. Canelos body wouldn't automatically rehydrate to the same levels as G if that was the case.

Cmon man. You should be old enough to know that "reported" are all just gossip rumours vs official.

The fact of the matter is, even tough many of you GGG fans are always in denial or just gullible, but GGG's frame and rehydration is not the same as his early days on HBO up to 2016. Why is it so hard for you guys to accept that it's OK for fighters to have difficulty with rehydration as they age?! It's not a sin nor is damaging news. It's OK! As boxers age it's more difficult for them to make weight. Look multiple division champs in their EARLY or YOUNGER days, it's common sense their metabolism is STRONGER and FASTER than later years.

All this GGG is on average 170-172 has been played out since 2013, as if it would erroneously need to be said in 2019 for a guy who's 37. Again, GGG has been sweating and looking unhealthy in his late pressers for good reason. You guys don't know that GGG has to maintain a weight during fight week, calculated, for the scales. That takes a toll on the body, and low and behold, "fighters get sick" (immune system) if they're too dehydrated. How many times has GGG been reported or looked sick during pressers? Coincidence?

Abel Sanchez said GGG could fight Kovalev at 175. Gennady was in his 33 when Abel said this. You think Abel thinks GGG would find it hard to "acclimate" to 168 this late at his age? GGG is easily a 168 fighter. Truax Eubank Jr., these guys are already 168 because it's not hard to fight there even though they come off looking skinnier in frame than GGG.

Again, Pavlik, younger than GGG or the same age, would gain lbs to 178 against Martinez. Pavlik on the Joe Rogan show said that GGG rehydrates to 175-180lbs.

Don't be suckered. HBO, as years progressed, casually didn't show GGG's official fight night weights for good reason. You're not obligated to. Weight disclosure isn't in the rules of boxing. That's a network made initiative, and if you're "reporting" things unofficially then you have the ability to exploit lies because those opinions could be retracted and say "well that's what we were told."

And again, the fact that Canelo had acclimated to 160 yet was neck to neck or in my opion 2-3lbs lighter than GGG, proves that Canelo at 155 was never the same rehydrated Canelo against GGG. Therefore, whatever fake news that Canelo was "walking around" or on fight night then you would easily apply that Golovkin. Those are physical rules not theory.

When did I never accept that fighters get older, thus it becoming more difficult to maintain weight? Rignt, never. I've accepted and have mentioned G's age and how he hasn't looked the same. Doesn't take away that he still has weighed what he has on fight night, up until last year, or at least 2017, despite it probably being to his disadvantage at this age. And you can't go off your opinion on Canelo's supposed weight when he's clearly bigger than he was several years ago, where he did weigh in the low 170s. I can't get too lengthy at the moment.
