Do you even watch boxing ? Ortiz is lucky to be #11 with the WBA he got kicked out of teh WBA rankings for failing a drugs test.

He's not ranked by anyone else because he's fought nobodies since Wilder. According to boxrec he has fought just twice since Wilder the 95th and 210th rated heavyweights.

What do you expect for that another title shot ???

No way AJ/Hearn & Co. Take this fight. Far too dangerous for very little reward.

If AJ did take this fight somehow, it would restore a lot of his credibility, IMO.

Sure Ortiz is dangerous but he has absolutely the worst conditioning I’ve seen from any fighter at world level amongst the heavyweights in a long while.
This is why I'd prefer to see AJ against Miller.

Let's be honest: AJ beats them both.

But at least with Miller, I see a path to victory. Be physical, tire AJ out, and keep up a high work rate in the second half of the fight.

Against Ortiz? AJ knocks him out every time. He's just not in shape to fight these top guys. Still a fun fight, but I know the result.

              My HW rankings are

              1. Fury
              2. AJ
              3. Wilder
              4. Ortiz
              5. Whyte

ESPN and Ring have Ortiz 5 and Whyte 4.

I rank Ortiz higher because he lasted longer and was only down by 1 point on all 3 cards.

Whyte only won like 1-2 rounds. And you want to talk about out of shape Whyte could barely even stand up like around the 5th round. He was gassing as ***.

I'm not attacking his skillset or saying whether those fighters would beat him just that they have probably followed the rules more to acheive their rankings. If you're not fighting guys in the top 50 you can't expect to be ranked top ten across the board.

                  Chillout, don't get so defensive.
This isn't about him being at the top of the rankings. This is about boxing fans saying that Ortiz is the best available HW to fight in the US. The response from you when someone said it was crazy that he was ranked in the alphabet rankings at 11th was that he hadn't fought anybody. The point was who else other than Fury, Wilder, and Joshua have fought somebody to push Ortiz out of the top 10.

Whyte is garbage yet he’s more deserving than some of these other clowns being touted around for a title shot hell he’s just as deserving of a title shot as Miller is if not more.

I don’t rate any of the heavies outside of the top three aside from maybe Povetkin followed closely by the like of Pulev then Ortiz, all those boys are too old now with maybe the exception of Pulev who we can’t reallt gauge until he tests himself again at world level.
