If Kov goes on to further great success, it will make Ward's win look even better
Kov clearly won the first one and was clearly up in the second before the controversial 8th round. I don't think Kov handled the dirty tactics by Ward that well, but in a neutral environment Ward is probably DQd in fight 2 and definitely has points deducted.

I really don't understand the fanboying over a guy who fought all his fights at home, grinded his way to unimpressive and often times dubious decisions, hardly ever scoring a KO or KD, yet because he was fighting at home he got most of the rounds from the judges.

If Kov or GGG did that, and people hyped them up, those people would rightfully be derided. Instead those guys have gone on the road most of their career and dominated, winning clearly by KO in almost every fight.

Ward is basically the US version of Sven Ottke and anyone hyping up his career should not be taken seriously.

      that is bullshlt

as usual, you casuals are wetting the bed over nothing

Ward broke Kovalev to the body..... a couple of punches strayed low - as has happened MANY times in professional boxing..... but anyone with a clue can see that fight was stopped because Kovalev was done

Calling Ward Sven Ottke is LITERALLY about as ******ed as you can get

you have absolutely no idea what you are crying about lol

listening to you Golovkin fans criticize Ward and Canelo is hilarious..... because, those guys are EVERYTHING you clowns thought Golovkin was

when you criticize a truly great fighter, and fluff a hypejob..... you are done

      just saying

I just analyze things objectively. Ward improved in the 2nd fight and did some good work to the body. I don't think Kov fight smart in that fight either; he wanted blood instead of boxing. But Ward going low a few times, as you admit, is grounds for a points deduction if not a DQ in a neutral setting. If he stopped Kov clean it would have a been a great win for him and his resume but unfortunately it didn't happen. I think Ward was doing good work to the body anyway but it seemed like he had to go low to really get Kov to feel it, as the amount of times Ward went low indicates it was part of a larger strategy.

Ward literally is Sven Ottke though; maybe a somewhat better US version of him, but that is 100% the best analogy for him. Ward has 1 top non-controversial win, a 7-5 win over Froch. Otherwise his career was littered with controversial home town refereeing and judging. And very few top wins anyway. Anyone who thinks he won all 12 rounds or even anything over 7 rounds over Bika is nuts. Same with the fight with Barrera.

The funny thing is that if Ward was fully white, and not just half white, you would be a bigger critic of him than me lol. And I would have the same exact opinion of him. Because my analysis of a fighter is not tied up in what they look like, I evaluate any man who steps into the ring based on the merits.

GGG, objectively, has a much more impressive boxing career than Ward. He is a guy from BFE, who has gone on the road his whole career and KOd nearly all of his opponents, and won cleanly in all of his fights. Has 15 good to great clean wins. The great Marvin Hagler lost clean a few times, and was outboxed twice by Willie Monroe...and got embarrassed by a career WW in SRL. Who did Hagler ever beat besides Hearns and Mugabe (who never beat anyone himself)? GGG is an ATG, just the way it is. And him being white has nothing to do with his success or resume, although that is all you see when you look at him. Must be a terrible way to live.

Ward instead has literally never taken a real challenge. If he was so great - why not go fight Kov in Russia? Or in a neutral site? Or fight Bute in Canada or Froch in the UK in a lucrative rematch? It's because, like Sven Ottke, Ward can't take the judges and ref with him.

The funny thing is I can tell by the way you just responded to my post that deep down you know Ward is the hype job and you know how great GGG is. You are just some fat ugly loser who posts racist hateful stuff online to try and make yourself not feel depressed. Hit the gym, work out. Be positive man. Those things will help improve your mood, rather than responding like a 12 year old girl to every post on this site.

Canelo has done some really good stuff so far in his career. He always has a judge or two on the employ when he fights, but he has an impressive resume of guys he has fought and I think he has acquitted himself well and shown himself to be a real fighter and a talented boxer. He clearly lost twice to GGG but otherwise I have no issue with his career or resume. I thought he won the last 4 against Lara to win that one 7-5. And I can't recall any other bad decisions he received.

To prove you're not a racist - 1) list the positive attributes of GGG, and 2) also list your current top 10 pfp. Let me guess, you have Spence, Crawford, Thurman, Wilder, Charlos, Andrade, Jacobs, Gervonta and Marcus Browne lol.

You opinion on boxing is a complete joke and I wonder if you realize that everyone on here blocks you.

          nah that is bullshlt

BODY-WORK was a major part of Ward's strategy..... and a couple slipped low

          that is all

..... both of those shots were legit, the fight should have ended there..... with Kovalev being stopped for turning his back to his opponent

Ward stopped punching, but he should have finished him off

some would say that was sportsmanship, I say it is unprofessional

Kovalev was clearly done, that was a great win against a top opponent

          a supposed killer

Golovkin ran from threats who were NOT on Kovalev's level

like I told you on the other thread..... Ward PROVED that he is a great fighter, Golovkin passed on the opportunity.....

and yet..... you choose to attack the PROVEN fighter, while fluffing off the guy who passed on career-defining fights and currently does not have a signature win on his resume

..... which makes YOU a hypejob, as well as Golovkin

Team Hypejob... bull****ting their idiot fans since... well, forever lol

I mean yeah some of Ward's shots in the fight were clean. He does some good work to the body usually. Those two were on the beltline which is fine but it shows how close he was cutting it the whole fight. And iirc there were a couple low shots in that 8th round right before that.

BTW - the decision to move up and fight the boogeyman should be applauded. However he got beat cleanly in the 1st fight and the 2nd fight was a dubious decision. And it is always easier to go up in weight and fight the bad guy rather than vice versa. Consider what Mikey Garcia is doing - if he loses to Spence no one cares. If he lost to Loma he takes a serious hit.

                • Ward is a smug faced mouthpiece who needs to humble himself a little bit. He lost to Kovalev with a massive gift and that decision is a massive stain on US judging, not unlike Fury being robbed in the US also.
Ward wisely hung em up as Kovalev is better than him and Beterbiev is better than them all at 175. I would love Beterbiev to knock the smug faced little twerp spark out. His clutching and grabbing and ring antics are horrible. Not a boxer to.be proud of.

So erm....how did you score Ward Kov 1 ?

That smug bastid was gifted a shocking decision and has never had the humility to admit it. When he pulls Max Kellerman out of his arse he can.maybe come back and allow justice to be served. Beterbiev would not put up with his holding and clinching act. Horrible cheat.

I watched his entire career you muppet

anyone denying that Ward is a great fighter is on a fool's errand

when you deny that Ward is a great fighter, EVERYONE who knows this sport knows that you are just a butthurt idiot

it was when Ward embarrassed Golovkin and called him lil'G that did it, huh?

don't you casual fans realize..... that your tendency to throw BETTER fighters under a bus to somehow elevate Golovkin..... is the main reason why we hate you?
