Martin earned my respect vs Kownacki.
That was a damn good fight.
And yes, I agree that with 2 more rounds, a draw would've occurred

Ortiz is the biggest hype job by "fans" on this site. When he loses against any guy, not named Joshua, Wilder of Fury, forum will explode.

I'm not going to use it as an excuse but I think the magnitude of the fight and crowd could have been overwhelming for Martin when he faced Joshua. I don't think he would have won but if it wasn't such a big stage (AJ's coronation as Champ before his fans), he may have fared better. The Glozkov fight was televised but it was a weird ending early.

I don't think Martin is as bad as people make him out to be. His "walking the Earth like a good" commentary and performance against AJ may have allowed him to be considered a joke. I also think he lacks some self confidence (despite the above mentioned comments). He fought Kownacki pretty competitively and got better as the fight went on. A fight against Kauffman would tell us a lot more about how he could rate as a gatekeeper/fringe contender in the division.
I have always said Martin won the boxing lottery when Fury got stripped. He was the IBF #2 so he got a gift wrapped title shot. He had built up a padded record with a couple of decent wins over journeymen Dawejko & Zumbano. He won the title on a Glazkov injury & earned $450000. He then turned that into 8 million against Joshua. He earned 8.45 million in 6 months without landing a defining punch. Nobody knew how good he was. he shed some ring rust against Kownacki & really turned it on in the 2nd half of that fight. It may have had a different outcome if it was 12 rounds & not 10. He kind of missed the gradual increase of competition stage of his career going from Zumbano to Joshua. The big stage may have been overwhelming as you said. That is why I say he take a couple fights against fringe contenders like Kauffman. A 10 rounder vs Kevin Johnson wouldn't even be a bad workout. Get a few rounds in against those fringe level guys before stepping in with the Top 20 boys.

You can times that explosion by 1000 if the person he loses to happens to be Charles Martin

Look at these fools just praying it happens so they can have another "Ortiz is overrated" circle jerk. Charles Martin is trash, wouldn't happen on his best day and Ortiz's worst

I'm not praying for anything...I like Ortiz, I think he is a very good fighter, although overrated by Wilder fanboys. Every fighter has a punchers chance, so does Charles Martin, so never say never. I just think it would be extremely funny as Ortiz was talked up as one of the best Heavyweights ever by some of the fanboys on here.

Well right now he is overrated. I’m not praying for anything because that’s a waste of time. But it would be funny seeing how salty the likes of you would get
