why was cotto good though? he literally beat one top 10 guy at 154 and that was yuri foreman who was not elite and had no knees.

I'm assuming he just edged out Broner to this point

For doing what? He lost to a journeyman, too, in this decade. He doesn't deserve a mention yet. Maybe next decade.

If Canelo decisively beats Jacobs I think it would be hardpressed for anyone else to earn FOTD.

Canelo will also beat another fighter in September...again this is also "assumedly", but it's a pretty impressive collection.

Crawford, Loma, and Usyk might be the best fighters on the planet, but they're "hot topics" and haven't had the same level of success Canelo has had through the decade. Those three are stronger in the past 2-3 years, but the first 6-7 years give Canelo the edge

Does testing postive for PEDs disqualify you from being considered?

Trout- close fight, trout arguably winning until the corrupt open scorecards got announced and he changed tactics.
Cotto- old and smaller with plenty of losses at that point, overrated in the first place, sadam ali beat him easier
                Chavez Jr- lol

Khan- chinless at lower weights, considerably smaller
                Kirkland- C level, chinless

Bro you can do that with everyone’s resume.
So what are you trying to say that that list of killers isn’t worthy of the fights being actually made?

If Canelo, Spence, Crawford etc.. keeps on slacking, Pacquiao is gonna steal another Fighter of the Decade. Floyd retired again too early for 2020 fighter of the decade. 2 years is a lot of time to miss. Canelo could be the front runner today. But if he can't put away and dominate GGG/Jacobs and the measly remaining good fighter left for him to fight and Pacquiao goes on fairy-tale ending run of dominating Porter, Thurman, Garcia and Spence. He would steal that **** once again. The number and availability of good opponents matters and Welterweight is still the king and creme de la creme of all weight divisions in this era.

This is why Pacquiao feels so alive and invigorated today, he has that look in his eyes once again. He is eyeing the Fighter of the Decade prize.

you cant seriously put chavez jr, alfredo angulo, and a 40 year old mosley and act like that boosts his case

i think if lomachenko turns pro in 2010, this probably isnt even a conversation

i think canelos wins over GGG and cotto alone put him in the conversation of a weird decade still mostly dominated by the pasts best (ward, mayweather, pacman) still had a great first half
