I said months ago that the only reason Canelo vs lemieux didn't happen in December is because the 1 round ko of osulluvian changed golden boys mind. Even though lemieux sucks, they didn't want to risk putting Canelo in with someone with that kind of power only 3 months after the fight with ggg, just in case he wasn't fully recovered. They definitely had him lined up for may had he fought in December. If this fight still happens, it'll be the lamest run of back to back fights for a ppv boxing star since... Well, Canelo vs khan and Smith.

I would be shocked if that was the case. They should have tried to make that fight anyway.

Lemieux should not be Canelo's opponent on May 4th. That would be a step above not having a fight that weekend like last year.

You’re forgetting that Lemieux became one of Canelo’s WBA mandatories when he KO’d O’Sullivan. The matchup was sanctioned as a final eliminator for the winner of Canelo/GGG 2. Also, Rob Brant is the regular WBA MW champ, so he can call for his mandatory shot @ Canelo as well. Anyhow, Charlo has a mandatory due and that is GGG not Canelo @ this time and even if that fight doesn’t go thru I wouldn’t be surprise if the WBC allowed the WBA mandatory to take precedence. So Charlo gonna have to wait his turn Canelo’s the A side he calls the shots now.

I don't have a problem with Canelo vs. Brant, Canelo vs. Jacobs, Canelo vs. Andrade, Canelo vs. Charlo, Canelo vs. Benavidez, Canelo vs. Zurdo, or Canelo vs. Callum Smith! Canelo vs. Lemieux is no bueno! I would accept Canelo vs. Munguia, more than Canelo vs. Lemieux @ 168! Honestly, I'm cool with Canelo vs. Lemieux @ 168, so long as he gives up that strap!

If you want Canelo to fight them three one after the other then why are you okay with Triple g and BJS fighting Uber drivers until they get the Canelo pay day cause eventually that's what's gonna happen...
