Hell even top stars with the biggest promoters are often years in between quality opponents yet these two dudes with minor promoters who were virtually unknown til their 30s are somehow 'avoiding' fights despite both having fought most of the best guys in their respective divisions in the few years they've had near the top.

    ****'s topsy-turvy, man.
    Agree

I hate when people say this fighter is ducking this fighter or scared of this fighter

These guys are almost always top shelf fighters and for the most part have been kicking a.ss since they were in the Ams all the way up through the pros. These guys aren’t scared and aren’t going to duck certain fighters. They’re warriors and believe they’ll beat any man put in front of them

It usually boils down to business. Is the risk worth the reward. Is the payday high enough for the fighter and his team. Fights usually get made when both fighters / teams can maximize revenue. Not many current fighters are just fighting for the glory and respect and even if they are they want the financials to work. It’s part of the sport

Plus you add in the fact that over the last however many years every time fans think a fighter is scared or ducking a certain fight
    Garcia/Matthyssee
    May /PAC
    GGg / Canelo
    Ward / Kov

The scared fighter usually wins , you’d think fans would learn by now the whole throwing out the ducking or scared sh.it is so pointless

Kovalev was the superior boxer by a mile. Fighting Ward twice, even in a losing effort, is better than anyone on GGG's resume.

I seriously doubt that Kov is the better pure boxer over Golovkin

Golovkin was a star as a Amateur, Kovalev was no where to be found at the international level

Golovkin has one of the best jabs in the sport and has controlled fights with it. His inside game is legit and how he uses his head to get out of clinches is sick. Golovkins never been down while Kovalev showed that he’s just a front runner bully and will fold if someone fights back and doesn’t cower in his presence. What has Kovalev showed skill wise besides mowing fighters down in the ring that he’s better then Golovkin

Fighting Ward and losing twice and having your soul taken in the rematch where he was complaining and looking for a way out before the fight was called doesnt qualify as being a better fighter , I’m sorry it just doesn’t

You know that the vast majority of that shit ain't really about what's going on in the real world though... it's about the little cliques and schoolyard beefs that occur in the bubble of boxing forums. Y'know - 'some guy slung some shade at my guy so I'll throw some back at theirs' type of crap. Which is understandable, I guess (if you're 12), but frustrating when you're trying to have sensible discussions about stuff. Some of these guys get so deep into that stuff though it's like they totally lost touch with how the real world works.

Yeah man I get what you’re saying

I just don’t get how fans who’ve probably never been in a physical confrontation in their life are so quick to pull the coward , ducking or scared Card against fighters who are almost always at the top of the sport ( you know a sport in which the whole point is to punch another man in the face and beat him down, how do all of a sudden they become b.itch made over a certain fighter and a possible fight ) To me it makes no sense and makes you look like a ****** for using those words so freely on this forum

Like I’m a f.ucking Canelo hater , always have been , hate how he always gets the preferential treatment in every way but I would never call the man a coward even when he waited to fight Golovkin. I put the blame on his team. Even if I can’t stand the guy and always root against him Canelos proven he’s a warrior and will face any man. There’s no b.itch in him the petty name calling is so lame

Fans need to respect these fighters more even if they don’t like them. What they do for a living and our entertainment takes huge f.ucking balls. None of these guys are b.itches or cowards

difference being kovalev fans didnt get overzealous and neither did his trainer and promoter....they didnt claim him the greatest lhw ever and assume he beats everyone in LHW history.....kovalev, even after his post ward meltdowns, still has respect...he always had it and never lost it

the only fighter i consistently trash is lil g....its not out of EE hate or hate for white fighters...cause i dont bash kovalev, usyk, loma etc.....i have respect for them...i have respect for kovalev even in defeat

He was unknown , had no fans , no belt and hit like a mule. The fight wasn’t a possibility until 2014. When Kov had been on HBo a couple times and was building a rep and had a strap which is exactly when it got made

Thinking the fight could have happend
Any earlier isn’t being honest with yourself with the landscape of the sport and how big fights get made
Lol. Kova was the mando for Bhops IBF strap you booty face, before Kova won the WBO. Bhop could’ve fought Kovalev to diminish less purse amount before the russian acquired the WBO. That’s the same time frame of months when Canelo won the belt from Cotto to fighting GGG. Ironically you stated Canelo waited for GGG to get old. Lol. Yeah ok and we’re talking about Kovalev Bhop matchmaking

What do you mean? Some say that Adonis ducked Eleider Alvarez for a good 3+ years give or take, yet Kovalev didn’t and is fighting him again. So who is taking more risk? After Ward towards Shabramsky, did Kovalev fight a guy coming off a loss and 2 year layoff and coming from a weight below? #Vanes

For me, Kovalev got the better resume, ain’t race b8 you moron, people debate Spence vs Crawford resumes, is that b8tng? Oh now wait, some fans get hurt and with insecurity theory outside stateside

What has golovkin got do with with kovalev in any way?what is the link? that they are both white? thats a rhetorical question btw...but im guessing you probobly dont know what that means either

Yes people debate Spence & Buds resumes because they are in the same division and will fight within the next year or two you complete and utter moron.

Can you comment on my new thread comparing Sherman Williams and Julian Williams, both are black and both have the same surname, now thats already x2 a better thread than this one
