Mares is a pretty good fighter, better than Pedraza. It's just that Davis is much better.

A stinker in which way? Should be a fun fight, but Mares is too small and at 34 really too old (almost geriatric in little guy years). Abner should bring it as long as it lasts though... which by my reckoning is under 6.

Somehow I have the su****ion that the respective styles might not gel. Of course I hope I'm wrong.

It all depends on what Davis brings. If he's in the mood, I have your same opinion in terms of fight distance; six to nine rounds or so.

Is that what you saw when he had his rematch with LSC? He started out with boxing cause that was Robert's instructions to him winning the fight and when he noticed LSC controlling that jab round after round, he abandoned that plan and went back to brawling like in the first fight and look what happened with that outcome. Come on dude, this has mismatch written all over it. Mares cashing his chips cause of age catching up but he need that big staple name in his resume if he's going to retire. A tune up opponent would have made more sense to see how he does in his debut as a super featherweight
