A stinker in which way? Should be a fun fight, but Mares is too small and at 34 really too old (almost geriatric in little guy years). Abner should bring it as long as it lasts though... which by my reckoning is under 6.

The real boxing fans know this is one of those fights where the old timer passes the torch to the young up and coming boxer. The real question here is will gervonta fight real top notch opposition afterwards or will he cherry pick given the fact he's managed by the cancer of boxing floyd Mayweather.

"Hello. My name is Abner Mares, ex-Olympian, ex-bantamweight champion, ex-super bantamweight champion, ex-featherweight champion."

That's exactly what Mares should've said! Funny how this is a mismatch, but Pedraza was a legit opponent for Loma! Why? Because he beat Ray Beltran? GTFOH! Tank had beat the brakes off Pedraza already! Mares lost 2 decisions to LSC, one by MD! He didn't get blasted out in 7 rounds! Haters gonna hate! This is a great fight for both, and may the best man win!

it’s a tall mountain to climb but I’m not going to write Mares off to make it at least competitive or get the W

He’s shown he still has plenty of
Gas in the tank against LSC , Proved everyone wrong against Cuellar and is the best fighter Tank has faced by miles

Tank treats his off season like his big brother Broner and isn’t focused 24/7 / 365 so while he appears to be the real deal he may not turn out to be

I’m one of the few actually looking forward to this fight
Thats exactly how I see it. I just hope Mares turns the fight down if Tank misses weight. Dont fall for that trap.

Im actually VERY excited for this fight. You watch its going to be a lot better than some of these haters are saying. This is a HUGE step up in competition for Tank.

The haters don't wanna see Mares' pedigree! To be honest, I wish this was LSC stepping up to 130 instead of Mares!

So Mares is more interested in going up in weight to test himself against Gervonta rather than call out/fight a Mr. Gary Russell Jr.

Sorry none of this makes sense to me. But then in this "business" nothing makes sense.

Whats he suppose to do?? Wait around until Russell unretires?? Dude just isnt into boxing anymore. He's been ordered to fight Leo. Leo wants the fight, Russell NEEDS the fight but they cant get Russell to sign.

                    He'll lose to Tank Davis.

                    Can’t argue with that

I see Gatti-Mayweather all over again. This will be a massacre. Davis will punish him until he stops him.
