Maybe. I still contend that Tyson, the best version, would be a tough fight for any fighter in history. The best version of Tyson however lived and breathed boxing under the tutelage of Cus D'Amato, who also lived and breathed boxing. I was a perfect storm till D'Amato was removed from the equation. It would take that kind of dedication and also that kind of talent but I think it COULD happen
Will we ever see a heavyweight champion under 6ft again?

The average height of man is increasing so I say under six footers can fight better than over 6 footers. But less 6 foot heavyweights now and in future so maybe not any great ATG champs.
But I bet there will be champ under 6 footComment

Seeing how Povetkin lit AJ up in the 1st few rounds it more or less convinced me that a prime Mike would walk through the current crop.
So it’s not a case of could a 6ft champ reign again, your just waiting for that special individual to come alongComment

Yes if they are taught to slip punches , Bob and weave and have a good body attack. Most heavy weights are lazy they don't want to bend at the knees to slip punches prime example Stiverne he fought up right when he fought Wilder. You can't fight standing straight up when someone is 6 inches taller than you. Rocky Marconi got low to the ground to avoid punches from taller fighters . So it's up to the trainers to train them how to fight taller men and the last I looked nobody is teaching the Peek a boo style which is needed to defeat taller menComment

david tua had decent handspeed and amaing power at 5'10 and about 225 lbs. carried his power late in fight and had good activity, too. his fight with ibeabuchi the record for punches thrown in a world title fight at HW, maybe even any fight ever at HW measured by compubox.Comment

I'd still say 6'4", 240 lbs ripped would be on the higher end of the average there.
If you're talking purely about the big 3 of Wilder, Fury and Joshua?
Wilder is taller than him by 3" but based on his last fight would be outweighed by more than 30 lbs.
Fury is a fair deal taller but he's about 250-260 lbs with a heavy dose of flab. His muscle ratio would be nowhere near Florian's.
Joshua matches up best in pure size a couple inches taller, potentially 10 lbs heavier depending on the fight and of a similar muscle to fat ratio.Comment

With four recognized organizations, and one of those organizations having multiple world titles, it's possible we might see a 5' 11" champion at some point. When you're dealing with vacant titles and powerful promoters, anything is possible.
But right now, with Joshua, Wilder and Fury at the top of the division, it doesn't seem like there will be an under 6 foot champion any time soon.Comment
