Mosley at the lower weights was nothing like what he is today, and many people even today give Shane a fair chance to beat Floyd. At 135-147, Shane threw fierce combos and had great stamina. He also had very good power...much better than Floyd's p4p. His speed is also just as good as Floyd's at that weight. If Castillo can do what he did, Shane can certainly get a KO over Floyd at that weight.
You took the words right out of my mouth. This is exactly what I feel would have happened if the fights happened in the prime of both fighters. The Mosley of today is nothing like he was in the past. He has yet to drop back down to 147 and show any signs of his former self.
Lets say that they are even in speed, skill, heart, and chin. Mosley then has the advantage in size, power, and strength. Floyd's advantages are he is easily better then Shane at defense and he is the supereior technical boxer. Floyd also had pop too at 140
I think I rather have Floyds strengths over Shanes. Now lets go to that all important "intangibles" catagory. This one to me isnt even close. Floyd has shown to be the far more smarter boxer, has shown the far better ability to adjust during a fight, and has the better trainer.
I think its not all that impossible to see Floyd coming out on top based on those things.
OK. What about other intangibles like chin, desire, determination, inside fighting, punching power, body punching, blah blah blah.
You simply can't judge a fight based on:
Fighter A is the superior boxer thus he wins. Fighting is different then that. Mentality is just as important as your physical traits.
