I was just watching some old Mosley fights yesterday and dude was a straight beast. He dominated at 135 and then jumped straight to 147. He was still great at 147 but you could tell that he wouldve been a monster at 140 and near impossible to beat.
PBF has moved up quickly since he was at 130 and is now doing well at 147 but you can tell that he has not fully filled into the weight and was perfect at 140. You could argue that he mightve been better at the other weight, like 130 but his body was perfectly filled out at 140 while he looked somewhat drawn at the other weights.
Its a hard question to ask since Shane never fought at 140 and Floyd was only there for 3 fights but who do you think would win between the Floyd that seemed dominant against Gatti and the Shane that was just running through guys and knocking them out?
Shane looks hard to beat because his speed was unmatched, he threw those amazing flurries, and had crazy power. Those left hooks to the body were murder. Just watching that you would have to pick Shane. But then the more you think about it, my pick would change to Floyd. Floyd was easily the more complete fighter.
Shane never was a true defensive wizard and mostly just used his speed to try to backup when you threw but mostly his offense was his defense. I think Floyd could hit Shane alot and his defense would allow him to block alot of Shane's shots. Speed wise Floyd has fought some fast guys but Shane has never fought anyone with Floyd's speed so I would give him the advantage as far as being able to deal with the speed.
Overall this is a great mythical matchup and I think couldve been one of the greates fights of all time when you look at the style. So much speed & skill in the ring. I would go with Floyd by a close UD and maybe a SD
