He does not have one clear win vs a future hall of famer

Many of his wins are disputed and add the fact he failed a ped test, no , in my eyes not a legend

But a legend for mexican boxing....yes since they are so few stars who have received his level of popularity

Although, Canelo is a 3 Division world champion and has fought 5 fights against 4 HOF’s (Mayweather, Mosley, Cotto, GGGx2) I can’t put him in JCC Sr. or Salvador Sanchez legendary level. If Canelo where to conquer the 168 lbs division either with W’s against the likes of Callum Smith, David Benavidez or even to a lesser extend Zurdo then Canelo should be considered the legendary world champion, thoughts?
He fought an old Mosley, old cotto, 36 year old GGG (failed a drug test to) and was thoroughly dominated by Floyd. Canelo also had razor close fights with Trout and Lara. They match him well and his fans don’t mind him fighting 16-1 underdogs like Rocky Fielding.

No. Was schooled by Mayweather. Arguably lost to Golovkin twice (at least once for sure) and to Lara. Struggled with an old, undersized Cotto and even with Trout. Very good fighter but hes never beaten a prime great fighter without controversy. He largely benefits from favorable judging.

If you got any sense you should wait - if canelo gets minced at top level SMW and GGG gets wiped out too then that means his only meaningful wins are at LMW...excellent but hardly legendary.

Those defenses don’t mean nada! It’s like if Canelo woulda fought like 20 fieldings on defenses. Would that get you into HOF, playing it safe always? And 3 or 4 of those defenses were regular champion defenses that all know isn’t the real deal. Just ask Canelo haters who will acknowledge Canelos last fight was for a fake belt but they stay quiet about ggg first 3 or 4 defenses

Lol stop man, neither guy is Hall of Famer. I love Cotto but lost to the best fighters he faced besides Mosley and peg legged Martinez.

I think Canelo is on the cusp of being legendary. I've rarely seen a fighter with such a size disadvantage bully people around like Canelo does. Even at 168, I'd have him as a clear favorite against any of the top guys there.

When the hell has he had a size disadvantage, except in height against Fielding? Don't even mention Chavez either.
