PBC on FOX delivers knockout ratings

bigdummy is a massive PBC hater, foaming at the mouth level. He's been predicting their doom since their first show on NBC. Pay him no mind..You have NO idea how this works do you? Don't try to lie and act like you didn't think the overnight rating meant how many viewers the show had. I mean why else would you put M behind it? What exactly would the M stand for if it isn't million?
Once again, when did I argue this card had great attendance? In fact, even beforehand I said it was a mistake putting this card in NY after consecutive NY cards in the prior two weeks. And this was the first card the Charlo's were headlining so not like they were big names anyways. This wasn't an Errol Spence or Danny Garcia headlining a card, this was two brothers who don't have nearly the name as the other two headlining the third consecutive NY card three days before Xmas.
I spread fake ticket numbers. WTF is wrong with you? That was from Keith Idec, NOT me. And if he was wrong or lying, then DLH damn sure was doing the same saying only 400-500 tickets remained on Thursday morning.
Then you had no idea who Meltzer was or did and kept trying to make him look to be a Joe Blow when he was is much more respected than that.
Only person with an agenda seems to be you. Either as MotorCityCorba said you are a big time PBC hater, or a huge DLH/DAZN fan. Agenda is being pushed by you, not me.Comment

FOX signed PBC because networks especially FOX are signing a ton of new programming especially sports and since UFC is no longer on FOX they went ahead and made a deal with PBC. Not because PBC earned it, but because networks are signing a lot of new programming and making some dumb decisions in the process. For example FOX signed WWE for 5 year deal which is insane because WWE ratings suck. FOX was so desperate for new sports programming they signed a fake sport and are actively telling WWE to make their show more of a realistic sport show.
More evidence FOX was desperate is their sports president had been very vocal for years about how he hated wrestling and looked down on it and its fans. I think FOX made a huge mistake with WWE and now has made another mistake with PBC. Based on PBC's past performance I do not see how any networks would get into bed with them other than Showtime. I just don't see how any network would have confidence in a company that blew through and lost half a billion $ in 2 years and came out with nothing to show for it.
Everyone already knows Al Haymon cannot help himself from putting up mostly lousy fights. It's as if Haymon has an obsessive compulsive disorder in which he obsessively and compulsively needs to put on *****ty fights. He just seems to not be able to stop himself.Last edited by jdp28tx; 12-24-2018, 09:53 AM.Comment

This PBC show outperformed every UFC FOX Fight Night in 2018. What in the bloody hell are you talking about? FOX probably upgraded their portfolio at less $ than UFC cost them. Do you have any proof they ran through half a billion or are we going off the same reddit thread
You do realize that Haymon who loves nothing better then to put on sh.it fights according to you in the man responsible for his stable having the majority of fights in the sport where the best fight the best. But don’t let the facts get in the way of your reasoning
And you’re right they ran through all that $ with nothing to show for it except a major network deal for years , having their previous platform ( Showtime) up their boxing budget and raising the profile of most of their young American fighters. I guess besides that you’re right they didn’t do muchComment

Here is the thing, when it says overnight rating of 1.5 or 1.8 that does not mean millions. The overnight preliminary numbers for viewers were 1.69 million, that did NOT include the main event. That was only for the first two hours of the broadcast. You're telling me the main event that had the biggest rating is not going to add to that? Just know how the numbers work before you speak on it. Like I said, the average of the broadcast will be close to the 2 million range or around say 1.8-2 million, and the main event will peak above that. Now, if you think that is disappointing then fine. You had more expectations than you probably should have. But still, know what you are referencing.
Btw,
Last night's fight on FOX out-rated EVERY UFC telecast in 2018 @premierboxing @loudibella @lazylefty @boxingscene @boxing_esq @realjohnelaw @lazylefty @Fistianadospod @BarbosaBox @BoxingNewsED @KBouhairie @Brooklyn_Boxing @round_15

Good numbers for last night's Fight Card on FOX 1.5 HH RTG, network's best PBC performance of 2018 (almost double the avg)@snboxing @boxingscene @boxing_esq @Fistianadospod @loudibella @Brooklyn_Boxing @realjohnelaw @lazylefty

Fight by fight avgs
— BrooklynBrawler1970 (@BklynBrawler05) December 23, 2018
o Fight 1- Negron/Breazeale 1.2 RTG
o Fight 2 Charlo/ Harrison 1.5 RTG
o Fight 3- Charlo/Korobov 1.8 RTG
That's a good look for FOX that the numbers went up
Now, to me it doesn't mean much saying it out did every other PBC telecast on FOX as they were putting on mediocre fighters like Berto/Alexander/etc. And I'm also not sure if the part about out doing every UFC telecast is correct since their last show did really solid numbers. But good sign the numbers went up for the entire telecast. Usually happens that way, but since Lomachenko/Pedraza was referenced, that fight peaked BEFORE the main event which shows you the telecast had a big carry over from the Heisman trophy presentation.Comment
