Comments Thread For: When Will We Learn if Jermall Charlo is Very Good Or Great?

He has beaten everyone convincingly, and that is what you do when you are fighting to build it up and in the ring with "B" level opponents. Charlo is fine. Stay active, show up at everyone's fights, keep the pressure on.

Vada avoiding, top level competition avoiding contender at best is now being called great in this article? 100 bucks says good old haymon sponsored this article.

People really underrate his wins over William's and Trout. I have no doubt he is beats Canelo. The GGG and Jacob's fights are tougher matchups

**** sucks for Jermall... he's obviously a good fighter but he's caught in the high-threat low-reward trap. All the dude can do is trust in his management to put the best guys they can get in front of him and make sure he keeps doing what he's got to do.
I doubt the WBC are gonna put much pressure on Canelo to make it happen, but if he keeps knocking dudes out the title shot will probably come eventually. Would like to Jermall vs Golovkin or Jermall vs Jacobs, but neither is looking particularly likely any time soon. Derevyanchenko was mentioned by someone too - now that's a decent fight that might be easier to make.

Better fights with Jacobs, Andrade, Saunders, hell even Lemieux if he can still make weight.

When he gets one of the top dogs at MW. The WBC is ordering the GGG fight after the Korobov bout on Saturday so let's see if GGG takes that fight or not. If not, then hopefully the WBC orders the Canelo fight. Though that is highly unlikely and the WBC isn't going to tell Canelo nothing if he fights someone else.
A good start will be for Haymon to make sure he keeps Derevyancehnko for a bit longer and gives him enough money to fight Charlo. That is a high quality MW as seen with his fight with Jacobs. He's just not getting the other top guys unless ordered by one of the sanctioning bodies. Jacobs is his best bet, but he's probably getting Canelo in May.
