Comments Thread For: When Will We Learn if Jermall Charlo is Very Good Or Great?

By Keith Idec - NEW YORK The self-professed "Future of Boxing" strode across the stage Thursday wearing a pink trench coat and matching sneakers. It was maybe more a defiant act of confidence from a middleweight champion full of self-belief than it was a fashion statement. As if to tell everyone assembled at Barclays Center and those watching on FS1, "I'll wear what I want, say what I want and couldn't care less what you think." Make no mistake Charlo cares what we think. That gigantic chip on his shoulder sits there...

          Good read...

I'd rather see GGG pack it in, I fear the lions are too much for the soon to be 37 year old. If he wants to stick around and be ink on Mal's resume, so be it...

Better fights with Jacobs, Andrade, Saunders, hell even Lemieux if he can still make weight.

I'd love to see Charlo vs Canelo. I have only seen a bit of Charlo, and I would have to give the edge to Canelo in a fight, but it's one that must be made.

Jacob's, Saunders, GGG, Andrade, Canelo. If you're not fighting one of these names, you're wasting your time at 160.

We'll know about Jermall when someone finally signs a contract! Andrade ran from him @ 154! GGG don't want no smoke! WBC should force Canelo to fight him, yet they chose to order GGG...why? My last hope is Jacobs! There's no obstacles standing in the way of that fight, and Oscar has already said Canelo will NOT be facing Jacobs in May, so let's get it!

Golovkin's Promoter: Charlo Fight is Not Going To Happen

A massive shakeup has been occurring around boxing in regards to network implications with especially influential consequences in the middleweight division. We’re about two weeks removed since Canelo Alvarez rocked the sporting world that reached more than just casual fans – it made international financial headlines. The new streaming service DAZN offered to American audiences (as well as Canada, Japan, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and Austria) had finally made a splash with a record shattering deal that genuinely could alter how boxing contracts are negotiated, both on an individual level for fighters and with their promoters, should they have one at the time of signing.

If GGG, Jacobs, and Canelo don't want it, I hope Al Haymon puts together Jermall Charlo vs. Sergiy Derevyanchenko! I'll accept that!

He is obviously very freaking good. He will get his shots, then we will know if he is great. I do not think he has been avoided. On top of the promotional issues, I think he is just now making a name for himself among the casual fan. I think if he gets that first big name fight he will become bankable and more big fights come his way. I do not hold his resume against him. He has beaten everyone convincingly, and that is what you do when you are fighting to build it up and in the ring with "B" level opponents. Charlo is fine. Stay active, show up at everyone's fights, keep the pressure on.
