Oh maybe I'm wrong but I thought I heard somewhere that he had a fight lined up at light Heavyweight...he is ranked at Light Heavyweight on boxrec anyway. Still awful

If Korobov still has what he had prior to fighting Lee then he could be a banana skin for Charlo. Big if, though.

I don't like the fight but it seems people don't read the actual article before commenting.

He wasn't fighting at 175. He was contracted to fight at 162.

Boxingscene articles have it wrong all the time. Are you sure it wasn't at light Heavyweight ? Korobovs last fight was at light Heavyweight and his opponent, Juan De Angel, had his last fight at 180lbs (the one he was scheduled to fight)...

              NVM you were right...

"Matt Korobov, who is scheduled to fight Juan De Angel in an eight-round super middleweight bout on the off-TV undercard, has already agreed to terms for a fight with Charlo.

Capable fighters who can step in on short notice — in this case Korobov — are usually booked for undercards of major bouts for situations like this. Korobov now will have six days to trim himself to 160 pounds rather than 168-pound limit he was originally ticketed for."

I was actually thinking SMW when I posted. I didn't even realize it was LHW. I figured he'd have to lose another 8 lbs, which is hard. If it was 162 then he should be ok.

                Thanks for the info homie.

This would have been a great fight 3-4 years ago. Can't really blame Charlo though (much as I might want to) it isn't his fault. I just hope Korobov can make 160, his only fight since 2016 he came in over the LHW limit @ 175-1/2 lbs

I haven’t seen Korobov fight in awhile but I still think this will be a much better and more competitive scrap than Charlo-Monroe.
