If Canelo fought anyone half decent in his Caneloweight days, he wouldn't get credit for them either.
But Canelo's team put 152 on the table, Floyd just called their bluff. The way that fight went, weight was not the deciding factor.

Because Mayweather's scary ass fought Canelo at a Catchweight and that's not what boxing is about, have to fight the best AT their best.

        Twice his size lol......
He claimed he fought Cotto at 154 because he wanted to fight him at his best weight unlike Pacquiao..

Then sucks Canelo down to 152....

So wipe half of Caneloweight's resume, none of those fights count.

Mayweather will get his due credit for the Canelo win. What factors into it not being as great as it could be, is that we have to take into account where both fighter's careers were at. Floyd, despite his age, was #1 and Canelo hadn't sniffed the P4P rankings before then.

Regardless of what Canelo does in his career, you'd be reluctant to rank that Canelo win as one of Mayweather's top 5 wins (and Canelo is in position right now to be a top 5 Mayweather opponent when everything is said and done).

Drained a guy to 152lb who fought 12 hard rounds with Matthew Hatton a year early.

Since then Canelo has increased and improved his PED programs, to increase his punch resistance, speed and power.

Canelo definitely has the best PEDs in the business since Evan Fields

An EXTREMELY underrated win in boxing history, yet lots of people seem to overlook it....... Why?
Because Canelo was still very green, and Mayweather weight drained him.

Canelo was a rough diamond that time, unpolished and unrefined.. thus, he was cherry picked at the right time. He was still yellow.

In any profession, experience in your craft makes you better at what you do. Canelo of today is light years better than when he was still green. And like one poster said here Floyd was closer to his prime than Canelo was to his.
how was he 21 in 2013 and 28 in 2018?

Floyd gets plenty of credit. If Canelo continues, that win may turn out to be Floyd's best win ever.
