LOL. Floyd wanted 147 and threatened to pull out if Canelo doesn't agree to a 150 catchweight.

Everyone's hatin on Floyd for the Canelo fight but CANELO TOOK THE FIGHT. He didn't have to take a fight against a past prime Mayweather but he did because he obviously thought he could capitalize on Mayweathers age. It's a 2 way street both Mayweather and Canelo thought they could win. Canelo wasn't green thats an excuse. He had around 40 fights, just beat Trout, and was a P4P fighter. You should all just be happy the fight happened as These types of fights don't happen enough in boxing where the old guard actually fights the young lion win or lose. It's good for boxing.

First of all, it was Canelo's team that originally wanted the fight at 150.

Second, he is the one challenging a 147lb fighter. But no one mentions his attempt to "drag Floyd up" to 154.

Third, Canelo and his team agreed to 152. Why the hell is anyone blaming Floyd. Obviously he thought he could win. Didn't he and his brothers get tattoos noting that they were going to win before the fight took place, or some shlt like that.

Stop being bltches. He took the fight. He thought he could win. He lost. He wasn't 21. And he was already a champion. So many crybabies here.

Mayweather wanted it at 147 but the gb team declined saying it was too much and Mayweather settled in a 150 or pullout offer and Gb said that 152 is the best that they could and even said that the weight still drains canelo.
Oh I knew that they originally wanted 147 and then 150, what I mean is that why settle on 152? That catch weight has followed Floyd around ever since. 152-154 couldn’t have made that much of a difference on difference on fight night since Canelo rehydrated over 160 for that fight. He could have just removed the asterisk from that fight. Unless he assumed the catchweight would never make news...

                  1. Floyd cherry picked Canelo. Um, actually GBP became vocal about that fight AFTER it appeared Floyd had slowed down and when he touched up vs Cotto. Canelo called Floyd out not the other way around.

                  2. Canelo was 21 or 22 years old. This is the best one of them all. No idea why some weirdos on purpose take a year or two away from his actual age the day of the fight. Canelo was 23 years old yet they will say he was 21 or 22. Why? So damn weird that this always gets said. Btw, Hearns was 22 years old when he fought SRL and Floyd was 23 years old when he fought Chico, his best performance ever.

                  3. Clearly Canelo was weight drained. What made him so weight drained vs Floyd? Granted, any time there is a catchweight, the A side puts themselves in position to get criticized. But how exactly was Canelo weight drained? Was he not able to take punches better? Did he tire out faster than usual? Answers to those two questions are no. Canelo was not once ever hurt and actually had more energy late in the fight compared to previous fights. He also threw way more punches vs Floyd than he did vs Trout a fight prior.

Those that are going to hate on Floyd are obviously going to hold on to anything and will downplay anything he does. That was a very good win for Floyd and one of the best high level performances in the last 15 years. Canelo's style was tailor made for him though. Canelo is a natural counter puncher who likes to sit back but you aren't going to beat Floyd in that game. He is just quicker, faster, smarter and flat out better. Canelo is THAT dude and the fight made him a better fighter. Getting schooled like that isn't a bad thing. Hence, why I don't understand why Tank doesn't fight Lomachenko. He's not getting hurt that fight and worst case he loses a wide decision. Personally I see it being competitive but still that is a fight that improves Tank in the long run.
                  Nothing but facts here....

The bigger man always has to drain more to make weight. We all know Nelo outweighed Floyd in the ring just like most of Floyd’s opponents. So why do sum fighters get grief for outweighing their opponents in ring like Lemieux yet he has to kill himself to do it. There’s no way to quantify it. Either way if u win, detractors will say u had the advantage. People still think HWs win by leaning on eachother. Frank Bruno couldn’t have been more right when he said he was a 235lb brick wall when he fought Tyson in the rematch. Floyd was never heavier just better. Save maybe the Judah fight and I was there, Judah took the first four. Floyd’s glove touched.
