I think Deontay finally has gotten his wake up call. Deontay has so many bad habits some of them will not be fixed. Do you think a new trainer can still be a help or is he stuck ?

Why? He's 40-0-1... Guys don't usually fire their trainers when they are undefeated...

He got the 40-0-1 record almost exclusively because of his power. He is a one trick pony who would do good with a trainer who atleast can help him learn how to snap his jab and fire an occasional left hook from time to time.

However, Wilder is also 33, and at this point I am not sure how much of your bad habits you can fix or to what extent.

He cant learn much else at this point in his career imo.

Should just play out the rest of his career on his strengths.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it... As long as he has that eraser right hand nothing else matters. He can also go 12 rounds very easily so he is never out of it regardless of the scorecards. I had it a draw...

That's what I am thinking too.

I can understand that but there's so much wasted potential.

Sooner or later he will stumble upon someone who has the chin to take his power, and all that person needs is just above average boxing skills to beat him. For instance if Usyk proves that he can take a serious punch at the heavyweights, then I see him cruising to a UD against Wilder.
