Exactly what I was thinking. Sad truth is the 3 elite fighters Arum was throwing off on, aren't going anywhere near Spence or Crawford

Spence is not as skilled but what he lacks in dimension as a fighter he makes up for with power and accuracy and his ability to finish an opponent.

Spence's win over Brook (a guy who beat Porter) was more impressive to me than any of Garcia's wins despite the damage he suffered from GGG. I do give Garcia credit for his win over Khan, but his fights with Matthysse, Herrera and Peterson were too close and too competitive to convince me he deserves elite status. That is why he falls just a hair short for me.
Understood, and totally respect your opinion. You are more of an eye test man, while I am more of a resume man. But we can agree that BOTH aspects are important in determining the quality of a fighter.

Danny isn't elite at 147 but he would beat the **** out of any welterweight top rank has aside from Crawford.

Bob would trade a bunch of the scrub fighters he has just to have a Swift Garcia

I have to agree with Bob Arum and Danny Garcia on this one.

I don't know. It depends on how one defines "elite". Look, I'm not even a Danny fan, in fact I've rooted against him in just about every fight he has been in, but I'm not a fanboy either who's going to take anything away from him.

He could retire tomorrow, and he'd still have a hell of a career that he could be incredibly proud of. Clearly. Dude has went a long, long way in this brutal sport.

If he's not elite right now at this moment I do think he achieved that level for a time. And right now he's still borderline...maybe not at that highest tier but he's at least on that second tier. Which is more than can be said for 99% of boxers who have stepped into the ring. He has been at the world level for a long time now.

Danny is just a level below elite, I felt he beat Porter and he has a good shot to beat current Thurman in a rematch!

People forget, he won fights where he was the underdog and have faced solid fighters in his career without getting dropped or being outclassed!

It’s a shame we’ll never see Danny vs Bud, I think Danny could win that if he fights Bud like he did Thurman and Porter in the later rounds!
