Comments Thread For: We'll Have To Wait Way Longer Than We Should For Crawford-Spence

By Keith Idec - A boxing fan would've been excited this time a year ago if you had told him or her that we'd be tracking negotiations these days for a welterweight title bout between Errol Spence Jr. and another unbeaten champion who has won world titles in multiple weight classes. Fans undoubtedly would've assumed you were talking about Spence-Terence Crawford, not Spence-Mikey Garcia. Back then, Crawford had already announced he was vacating his 140-pound championships...

    Did boxingscene ever cover this?

Funny how things change within 8 months. He’s going to build up Crawford by using the Errol Spence is scared line and boxingscene is going to help him. Same thing they did with Pacquiao and Mayweather. Has Crawford even been a welterweight a whole year yet? No big fight gets made that fast.

I honestly don't see this fight happening until 2022.

The P4P King does not waste time

In March of 2014 Terence Crawford won the WBO Lightweight crown on foreign soil joining a short list of American champions to whoop a Brit in the UK ; eight months later T-Raw was lineal champion at 135.

One fight later after becoming lineal at 135 'Bud' was two weight champion capturing the WBO jr. Welterweight title vs. Thomas Dulorme.

One year later in 2016, Terence was UNIFIED and LINEAL X2 vs. Viktor Postol, the #1. jr. welterweight at the time.

One year later in August 2017, T-Raw did it again by becoming UNDISPUTED vs. Julius Indongo.

The NEXT fight Terence became 3X,X3,X3 weight champion beating Jeff Horn!

We know whos bout dat life, we know whos ducking.

I agree, Thurman is a overachiever, same applies to Shawn Porter ; Errol Spence is trying to fight Mickey. Pacquiao rather fight a Broner over Terence Crawford. Kell Brook is back, TRASH!

What a shame. Probably the most talent-filled division in boxing and next to NOTHING ever happens and Mikey G is only going to make it worse if he gets his way and "tries it out just to see what it's like" kind of thing. Boxing is moving forward right now but the WWs are stuck in neutral.

Thing is I'll also be very surprised if Spence is still at 147 past the age of 30 so that's another potential roadblock if it hasn't happened by then.

So you don't want this fight to happen? Why not?
Do you want AJ vs Wilder and Loma vs Mikey to happen, or also not?
BTW, has Wilder (and his team) also been using AJ name to build himself up?

Spence is waiting for Crawford to get old. He knows he will lose to him right now. So he wants to fight him at 35.
