Arguably not the best but certainly one of the better divisions An ideal WBSS at 147 with: Bud, Spence, Pacman, Porter, Thurman, Peterson?, Broner? and +1 other, isn't too shabby a line up. It'll never happen but it would beat the pants of the recent super middleweight one. Yea, having Shawn as a belt holder doesn't look great but there are 4 of them, or 5 if you count Manny's WBA regular belt.

While I agree that Spence is not scared, it would certainly appear he’s not keen on the smoke from Crawford atm.
Talking about ‘other side of the street’ is bs and isn’t a deciding factor in this fight getting made, he’s not Mayweather or Pac, he’s nowhere near that level in terms of commercial value, this fight would be much easier to make than May/Pac was
I mean what’s he really gonna do wait for pigs to fly for Thurman to finally return? Or even somehow persuade the rest of the pbc stable to grow a pair and fight him? Neither of those scenarios are happening anytime soon.
In my mind he’s got three options,,,
1. Fight Garcia (which he’ll get no credit for)
2. Fight Crawford
3. Move to 154Comment

Blame Crawford. His contract with Top Rank had expired. He knew that Arum didn't have a welterweight stable. He chose to re-sign with a promoter, who doesn't get along with Al Haymon, when Haymon happens to have most of the name welterweights in his stable. That's on Crawford.Comment
