I've been saying for years WTF where is the younger talent at? back in the days the big stars where anywhere from in their early 20's to mid-20's and it's like in this generation they look at anyone in their early 20's as some sort of baby or something...

They really need to start moving the younger talent along or start signing some guys to start building especially at 147lbs because just about everybody throughout every weight class is either knocking at the door or around 30+ except for some of the guys at the smaller weight like Tank, Stevenson, Ramirez, and Haney....
I think the younger talent is there, but when you can't even get the biggest names now to fight now it bottlenecks the whole sport cuz the whole mantra of the sport is marination & political bs over making the fights that fans wanna see & that'll make promotions the most money today & give it the appeal for more fans to tune in.

There are guys here & there who take risks don't get me wrong (the guys in the WBSS tournaments might be the best broad example of that). But overall the sport practices marination & politics over top guys fighting today. And the top guys of today fighting today is what gets sports fans turning into casual boxing fans & casual boxing fans turning into hardcore fans & hardcore fans having a lot of great sh^t to talk about day in, day out on sites like this one vs the usual "who the fook is he fighting....never heard of that guy", "why hasn't he fought in 8 months" & "obviously can't make a fight between those two entity's" type threads all the time. Boxing could be so much more fun, compelling & entertaining for everyone if there wasn't so much bs going on behind the scenes.

      1. Spence will make more money against Garcia, Porter or Thurman.
      2. Crawford hasn't fought a bona fide 147 lb fighter to show he deserves a unification. The talent is obviously there, but Arum doesn't have any top 15 Welterweights other than Bud. Jeff horn was a hype job and Bulletleg Benavidez won 2 or 3 rounds, so he definitely needs to show he can win a tougher fight at 147.
3.Spence isn't waiting for Crawford to get old. If anything, Spence might go to 154 as soon as the Charlos move up to 168 and 168 since he can go as high as 168.
      4. Neither guy is ducking the other.
      4.

The longer they wait the worse it is for TC amd the better it is for Spence. Hes the younger and bigger fighter.

I never seen Spence fight till he whipped the English dude. Bud I’ve watched for 2-3 years now.

Boxing is moving forward right now but the WWs are stuck in neutral.
I have to disagree. It may have the most recognized names, but it is not the most talented. Any division where Shawn Porter and Danny Garcia are top 5 live dogs is not great. Both of them are tough, but fairly basic. Spence is untested. Crawford has a ton of talent but has not proven himself to be the top dog there yet.

This is a typical high risk, low reward situation for both fighters, and only fighters who truly are more interested in being the best first, the richest second would push to make this fight happen.

Not that that is the smartest way to navigate your career, but we all know in boxing, the reward has to equal or surpass risk in order to make fights sooner rather than later.

IMO, PBC has a strange and bewildering business model. Their top fighters rarely fight often enough, and a lot of the time the fights are showcases rather than real matchups.

For once I agree with Arum.

As if being on the same side of the street things easily happen at SHO/PBC.
Spence can't even get fights on his own side of the street.
PBC/Showtime won't talk to Arum, who is reaching out,
saying that they have enough fighters to keep Spence busy.
Does this mean Danny Gift and Porter will finally fight Spence
                      after the Mikey G fight?
Eggs will be thrown flat on SHO/PBC's faces if these fights don't happen next year.
