Why did Ortiz go quiet and sign another fight instead of Whyte?

Hearn is the one who claimed that. We all know there is interest but Hearn chose the safer route. OrtUZ would definitely knock out Whyte making the Joshua fight impossible. There is a bigger issue here, Hearn wants Joshua-Whyte rematch not Wilder.

#3 - All Hearn had to do was tell the WBC to order the fight. The WBC has tried to make this fight all year long. Hearn says no every time.

Chisora does nothing for Whyte if hoping to get a shot at Wilder

Whyte agreed to fight Ortiz. Ortiz named the place/date. Whyte said ok then changed, the date/venue and said Ortiz must come to the UK. Ortiz said ok. Next thing I know Hearn and Whyte are talking about fighting Chisora

Not to forget, Whyte opted to fight Parker even when the WBC or one of the belt orgs mandated it

It's a clear duck from Whyte
Ortiz hasn’t ever discussed? He even has discussed a 3 match deal with Hearn but not wanted the Whyte fight? Hardly a duck; but then some wilder fanboys like to claim anything - I would look at the resume of wilder and Ortiz before critising others like Whyte.

Whyte has two choices for heavyweight title:

        1) fight Ortiz. Wait for Brezeale to face wilder. Then wait for mandatory to be called again. Probable timeframe 2022 or 2023

        2) aim to fight Joshua again for much more money than wilder fight. Probable timeframe - within 12 months

        Tough call....

Hearn was negotiating with Chisora and Haye , it's the fight he wanted. Ortiz lost his chance when he wanted more time for the July 02 event. Parker took his place.

WBC ordered Ortiz vs Whyte in April. Whyte mentioned suing since it’s his belief that the WBC silver makes him #1 contender, so he decided to fight Parker instead.

Ortiz has been quiet and signed a different fight and Hearn said they haven't contacted them. The WBC is irrelevant they have a mandatory, useless fighting for a second who'll have to wait 2 years and probably be ordered to fight someone else before getting a shot. All you do is call people liars. Why do you Wilder clowns hate Whyte so much, because your boy embarrassed himself ducking him? Whyte is te most deserving challenger in the HW division by far.

WBC has a mandatory challenger. 2nd mandatory is ******ed, wait upto 2 years for a shot. GTFOH. Name a challenger that has done more than Whyte, has Breazeale? WBC is a joke.

Honestly neither of them really wanted the fight and neither did their promoters.

Whyte and Hearn threw Ortiz's name out to leverage Chisora into signing, probably for less money. Ortiz of course had to respond but neither side reached out to the other to make the fight. Whyte and Hearn wanted Chisora as that's far more lucrative and Ortiz is happy doing what he's done most of his career take easy low risk fights and say he's being ducked to build up the Boogie man myth that everyone ducks him.

But I give more kudos to Whyte at least he's taking riskier fights. The Parker fight and now Chisora who arguably beat him last time are both big risks, especially with a huge fight vs AJ at the end of the road, while Ortiz is facing Cojanu's and Kaufmann's.
