And when the WBO became a legit title, like some mfers are trying to do with the IBO title now by even mentioning it with these other belts like this writer is doing, it became a complete sh^t show.

    This.

People need to stop quoting, stop talking and stop mentioning IBO completely. It's only making things worse by placing them side by side, giving them credibility. I will not mention the IBO any further beyond this thread.

WBO, IBF can take a hike too. They initiated this belt proliferation through their roles as catalysts in the 1980's.

The WBC and the WBA are the two historic belts. We need to stick to that. Or at least recognize that these are the two most important and historic belts.

First off is history. The WBC has always been recognized as a legitimate title. The WBO was finally recognized by enough media to be considered an "official major" title in the late 1990's. The IBO still isn't recognized as a major title.

Second, the WBC mandates all its ranked (top 15 per division) fighters be enrolled in year-round, random drug testing administered by VADA. The WBO and IBO do not. Because that costs money and all they care about is making money.

Third, the WBC clearly does occasionally take bribes or at the very least, plays favorites. However, they do try and make the best fights. They have ordered such fights as Stevenson-Kov, Thurman-Porter, Porter-Garcia, Canelo-g (twice!), and many others.

Fourth, just look at the WBO's rankings and champions. Honestly, just look at them. Ito is "champ" in a division with berchelt, davis, and Farmer. Pedraza is over Mikey and Loma at 135. Somebody named Maurice Hooker is at 140. Mungai is in a division with Lara, Hurd, and Jermell Charlo. They have Andrade fighting a complete no-name for a vacant title. The wbo doesn't even try to hide that it is corrupt and bases their rankings solely on bribes. As for the IBO, that is fake, so I'm not even going to get into that.
Good breakdown of why the WBC is the most legitimate.

Even the belt is gorgeous. As a kid when I didn't know a thing about boxing, remember seeing that green belt and thinking damn, that's an awesome looking belt.

You know it's a sad state when the IBF is like the most credible organization.

            IBO should be abolished.
As should these ****** as **** "interim" and "regular belts".

Really there should be just one champ. However, we have 4 major bodies and that isn't going away so at least just have 4 belts and that is ****ing it.

Also the Ring belt I'm ok with as an somewhat independent body even though GBP owns them.

they're bad for us, however. we suffer as fans, that much is unequivocal. they keep the best fights from happening. they keep the titles in hands of undeserving fighters.

but let's also not forget the reality of this sport: you can't fight hte best fighters one after the other for years and expect to talk and walk normally in your 60's.
It's a good reply. I was indulging my frustration as a fan but you are right.

I kind of agreed with this statement I been thinking for a long time. I would take the IBO over the WBO which can be brought and the WBA which is just in it for the money.

I wanted to slap Danny Garcia for even touching that sht everyone special ribbon.

It's absolutely ridiculous. "diamond", "regular", "super". It's embarrassing.

WBC, WBA, IBF. These are the only three titles that should be in each weight class.
