WBC, WBA, IBF in that order, the Rest...Don't CARE! WBC is the most prestigious though and it is not even close. WBA always been pathetic!

This is 2002 ( at Fres Quendo back in 2002 was a WBA Contender, WBA really love this guy, is he related to Gilberto Mendoza or something? WTF!) even back then Max Kellerman and Brian Kenny completely Shredding the WBA

Oh and funny how Max Kellerman talks about Don King Fighters in the WBA Rankings move up at a Rapid Pace in the video, well guess who is #1 by the WBA Ranks? Trevor Bryan Promoted by Guess Who? Yep DON KING!

i don't get this "WBC is [or was] #1," crap. the WBC has a very long history of nefarious behavior. they are the most powerful of all of the sanctioning bodies. unless you have some type of verifying logic you'd like to share with is i can't see why you'd think the WBC is the most legit. they operate as an illigimate entity [accordig to everybody in the thread, and in reality,] and they are the biggest. shouldnt' they thn actually be the worst?

the WBC would not exist if an italian fighter hadn't settled AFTER WINNING a 30 million dollar lawsuit. the WBC filed for bankruptcy and would have gone under if the fighter didn't throw them a bone.

here is the short story fo what happened: Roy jones gave up the WBC world title because he was unhappy about his purse split with michael nunn and then later asked for it back. the WBC said yes to this. the problem is that the WBC sanctioned a fight for the vacant title and the fight took place, and they awarded a dude the championship. in the meantime jones took a career high payday against an aging virgil hill above the 175 limit. after the fact the WBC LITERALLY CLAIMED THAT THERE WAS A TYPING ERROR and that they had never enlisted rocchigiani-nunn as a title bout, and roccigiani was not the champion.

the WBC almost surely has the most notorious history of all the sanctioning bodies. the WBA has potentially been the most ridiculous of late, btu that's a silly conversation to have, isn't it? the WBC is not number one. none of them are. they're literally belt of a different color.

          09 Apr 2003

In a judgment made public today, Manhattan Federal District Judge Richard Owen reinstated German boxer Graciano Rocchigiani as the World Boxing Council Light Heavyweight Champion for the period of March 1998 - April 2000.

Having previously found that Jones had voluntarily relinquished his position as champion in 1997, Judge Owen, in an order signed April 4th, decreed that Rocchigiani "became the World Boxing Council Light Heavyweight Champion upon defeating Michael Nunn on 3/21/98 and remained the Champion until in or about April 2000."

According to Rocchigiani's lawyer, Richard H. Dolan, the ruling effectively strips Jones of his championship title from 1997 to date: "Jones, having walked away in 1997, has yet to fight the bouts required by WBC rules to regain his former title."

The court's decision is in response to charges leveled against Jones and the WBC in a case tried by Rocchigiani's New York law firm, Schlam, Stone & Dolan. Earlier rulings by Judge Owen detail a tale of gamesplaying by Jones and outright deceit by WBC officials as Jones maneuvered to reclaim his title without having to fight Rocchigiani after Jones' initial bid to become a heavyweight contender fizzled. Eager to accommodate Jones because of the lucrative sums he generated, the WBC decreed three months after the March 21, 1998 fight that its own widespread promotional, contractual, and official references to that fight as a championship bout - and to Rocchigiani as the champion - had been 'typographical errors.'

Declaring in 2001 that the "wholly arbitrary and unfair conduct of the defendant in this case would leave anyone down for the proverbial count," Judge Owen ordered the WBC to trial, at which it was assessed $7.8 million actual damages, plus interest, and $20 million punitive damages by a jury which heard the case this past fall. Last week's ruling incorporated the jury's findings and gave Rocchigiani the right to execute a judgment against the WBC in the amount of $30,598,628.00.

"Judge Owen's decision is courageous. It not only restores the title to its rightful holder and makes the WBC accountable for its attempted TKO of Rocchigiani's career," said Dolan, "it also injects a big dose of real world justice into a sport that, for too long, has reeked of under-handedness and shady dealings."

"Graciano Rocchigiani has always been willing to defend his title in a bout with Roy Jones, Jr.," Dolan said. Adding that Jones had refused to file an answer or appear in the lawsuit, Dolan commented, "Roy Jones, Jr. is a talented boxer, but he was never willing to take on Rocky in a fight."

Noting that much of the revenue generated by the Mexico-based WBC comes from sanctioning fights in the U.S., Dolan said, "We intend to execute every aspect of the judgment, from correcting record books to collecting dollars - no matter how long it takes and who it affects. We are in this fight to the finish."

again, the WBC would not exist if this german born italian didn't throw them a bone and relinquish his right to a 30 million dollar settlement that would result in its bankruptcy

Despite achieving an appearance of legitimacy, subsequent to a three-year investigation started by 1996 charges levied by former heavyweight champion Michael Moorer; IBF's reputation was ruined 1999 with founder Lee's indictment for racketeering and other violations for taking bribes in exchange for high boxer rankings. Indicted on federal racketeering and racketeering conspiracy charges were "president, Robert W. Lee, 65; his son and IBF liaison, Robert Lee Jr., 38; former IBF executive and ******ia boxing commissioner Donald William Brennan, 86; and South American IBF representative Francisco Fernandez."[3] Lee was subsequently convicted of money-laundering and tax evasion in August 2000, then sentenced, in 2001, to 22 months in prison and fined $25,000. [4]

In 2000, citing extortion; boxing promoter Bob Arum voluntarily testified to having paid IBF president Bobby Lee $100,000 in two installments in 1995, as the first half of a $200,000 bribe, through "middleman, Stanley Hoffman," adding that Lee had first demanded $500,000 to approve the Schulz-Foreman fight, but had settled for the lesser amount of $200,000 (half of which was never paid).[5] Arum was sanctioned and fined $125,000 by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Boxing promoters Cedric Kushner and Dino Duva also admitted to making similar payments to Lee

WBC, WBA, IBF. These are the only three titles that should be in each weight class.

says the guy who says he takes seriously the sanctioning bodies that i have shown to literally take money for rankings, or claim that typing errors were responsible for them claiming a championship fight was not for a championship.

somebody posted a video of oyu getting bodied by a novice at your gym, 1bad. you should be quiet abou your "Experience"

When there's 5 or 6 "champions" in a division it's beyond diluted. When someone says "Oh he's a 5 time world champion", "oh he beat the most champions ever", "he beat 15 world champions" you are disrespecting the sport and the past when there were 8, 10 or 12 divisions and 1 champion or 2 maximum per division.
