I never understood how can a WBC fighter get a voluntary challenge; When he never won a mandatory challenge?

The very same goes with Shawn Porter. He won the vacant 147 lbs WBC title against Danny Garcia and yet he has two mandatory challengers to defend before he can even get a shot a voluntary defense.

The same rules should apply to Canelo Alvarez.

      It's hard to keep up.
He is scared he gonna end up like the krusher but rest assured he dont drink that hard so he got a couple more fights in him.

But really GGG is one of the biggest hype jobs to come out of Eastern Europe, tom loffler did a great job but i think Brook exposed GGG more than anybody else as really he should have knocked him out clean not just bust one eye socket i expected an excution like Khan vs Canelo. Yes he was hype nothing more sad but true

The Charlo 'threat' was used to put pressure on ggg because in theory he had an out by demanding his champions split for his mandatory, which Canelo would never have accepted.

Come on now deranged. Even you can see how disgusting it is to see Jubeir, ghostofdempsey, boliodogs and all the ggg diehards refusing to go at him the way they would anyone else that wouldn’t fight ggg.

Can’t postets just admit ggg has become what you guys hate-a guy that puts money over comp and who sucks tough guys- and simply call him out for it!

Since the wbc made this ruling he has shown no interest in fighting charlo. Very ***** and cowardly. You know if it was the other way around you guys would be killing charlo.

Yeah, you are right. I stand corrected. However, it still doesn't make it right. Sulaiman told him he was going to have to fight Canelo at some point anyway even if he had fought Charlo. Then if he would have refused both then they would have stripped of him of their WBC title.

well yeh but hardly poor, noone else was gifted 2 titles without throwing a punch like he was.

He is actually the most fortunate MW of the last decade years bar perhaps the Germanic ones who got fixed wins.

Fortunate or not GGG only got those titles because the incumbent champions chose not to fight him when he was mandatory (though he was of course rather lucky to be mandated by the WBC - but that's a different story). Hard to say how his career would have been worse or he would have been poorer if Sturm had fought him in 2010 or Canelo in 2016 (judging by how the 2017 fight went) - so maybe not so lucky after all?

dont make excuses for someone being handed titles for not doing anything. It is a scandal and you know it.

What next, they gonna hand me one for not making a post on this forum? He is the luckiest MW in recent history.

and assume nothing, we dont know how those fights would have turned out - what we do know is that G was a subworld level fighter at the time, with a subworld ibo title. Sturm would have been odds on favourite, and I would have expected him to beat 3G on points in germany. 3G is massively lucky not only to be handed a title but not to have to go into the champs lair to get it.

And we know for sure that Canelo beat 3G too, so thats what we got to go on on how that would have happened.

The time for making up fantasies about 3G is over - just accept what he did and didnt do.
