I don't do p4p - think the whole concept is ridiculous, but most of the rest of the boxing world seem to, and I'd say any fighter regarded as even top 10 in the world, yet alone top 5 fits the definition 'very good' or 'excellent'.
thats fair enough, just a questionable elite until he beats an elite.

I won't argue with that, and sadly at 36 his best days are behind him so we'll never know for sure how he might have fared against an elite opponent in his prime. Still I've enjoyed following his career despite the slightly disappointing lack of top flight opposition and hope that even as a old dog he can still give us a few good fights.

          haha what a funny thread.

You would think Canelo wiped out a prime GGG in a round instead of getting two gifts against a faded GGG. Jacobs also lost to GGG and got dropped in the process and people claim a moral victory for him because he went 12. Very bizarre.

i don't mind Canelo, great fighter but if GGG is so terrible, then it doesn't say much for a prime Canelo that many thought he couldn't beat a 37 year old supposed hype job does it? The more GGG gets discredit, it only makes Canelo look worse.

lord knows what GGG would've done to those guys if he wasn't faded.

now look at him? 37 years old and has NEVER made one sacrifice to make a meaningful fight happen. EVER.

Canelo gave him a payday on his debut at 160. then Canelo gave him another payday coming off a long layoff and knee surgery.

what does lil g want to do when Canelo is not in the picture? fight the bum of all bums Vanes Martirosyan. and recently he was chasing a fight against Ryota Bumrata.

why not call out Brant.. the winner? too slick?

why ignore Charlo? even the lil g strings admit he's unproven and hyped. so whats the holdup? "he doesn't bring much money" so now lil g is behaving the same EXACT way Felix Sturm treated him huh? except Sturm has been SHREDDED for his behavior by the g strings but now they're silent.

Jacobs already beat this coward and did more than earn an IMMEDIATE rematch. but the g string army wanted none of it. but after the first Canelo fight they said if Canelo doesn't rematch him than he's a coward. ??

i hope both Canelo & Jacobs freeze out this bum cowardly hearted Kazakhstan bum chasing peasant.

Canelo is now guaranteed 32$mil against ANYBODY. lil g is not needed. and the coward doesnt have any belt to warrant a Jacobs shot.

Fxck him and ALL his minions.
They shouldn’t have come out and said that they werent going to fight Charlo. That makes him look bad.

one cant ignore he had a good run from 2015 onwards, but it stinks that he was continually handed titles for free.

if we just rated him as IBF champ, the title he won, then I'd have no issue.

its weird how someone would call a titlist that, much less an actual boxer.

                    likely not fought them.

Just judging by his record from his physical prime resume years - from 25-33 includes only Lemieux at genuine world level.

Indeed, or perhaps the various difficulties I've already outlined were why such a fight didn't happen. Each time Golovkin's fight was connected to a big fight it fell through for one reason or another - Sturm, Martinez, Pirog, Froch, Chavez Jr (lol).... I've not seen evidence to show that Golovkin is the reason that these fights didn't happen, yet somehow none of them did. Mainly just bad luck and bad timing IMO... thing is guys not fighting the best is actually the rule rather than the exception - even under ideal promotional circumstances - and it seems to be that people understand this when they like the fighter in question and are unforgiving when they don't. Go figure.

Either way, if you're one of those that are convinced Golovkin's career was a deliberate sham I ain't gonna be able to convince you otherwise - all I've tried to do is show you that there's a strong case to be made that Golovkin's lack of elite opposition has more to do with circumstances rather than choice.
